Steve Jobs(less)

"I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."

This is truly the end of an era. The resignation of Steve Jobs as the CEO of Apple shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone. The man's been sick for several years and took two medical leaves, so you would think that it was a matter of time before Mr. Jobs had to let his duties at Apple go. He must be extremely ill to release the reigns of the company that he built, was fired from, then rehired and reinvigorated the company after his predecessors almost destroyed it. It's difficult to imagine what turn Apple will take now that it's out of his hands. Well, not entirely-- Jobs will still on the board of directors. The ball is in Tim Cook's hands now.

I wonder if Jobs has spent the last several months, or several years, doing an ultimate brain-dump of all of his ideas. I mean, that IS the key to Apple's success-- Jobs is very hands-on, and has left his signature on every product the company has produced-- all the "i" stuff is his; the iPod,the iPhone, the iPad-- the revolutionary tools that have altered the way we interact with our media. When the Jobs well runs dry, what direction will Apple move in? It's failed without him before-- will it fail without him again? I can imagine that Mr. Cook has worked very closely with Jobs. But I'm sure there will be a time when the company will have to rely on Cook's vision. Is his view that similar to Jobs, so it would be as if no change had occurred?

Do you think we'll still be listening to iPods or using MacBooks, or iPads in the future? Maybe in 5-10 years, Apple's products/personality will be completely and totally different from what it is now. And that will either be a good thing, or a disaster.

Will and Jada splitting up?

Could it be true? Is this really happening? It is...according to the tabloid and news sites.

The word is that these two have been unhappy for quite some time, and a divorce is said to be imminent. One of the latest rumors is that Will Smith left one of his movie sets early to surprise Jada, and found her in their home with recently-divorced Marc Anthony. Allegedly, upon seeing the two of them together, Will left the house crying. The Smith/Pinkett camp denies this, saying that Marc Anthony was at the house, but back in April, and only to watch a DVD. There are other rumors out there, specifically citing their alleged other words, both of them are gay and have other relationships. All involved directly with the two say that none of these rumors are true.

In spite of all of this news, Will and Jada claim that their marriage is still intact:

"Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact."

There you go. So is this just bullshit? Will we be hearing about a split a couple of weeks from now? Who the hell knows. It's like the Brad/Angelina stuff-- every time someone says they're splitting up, they do not. There is such a sick and stupid obsession with seeing celebrity relationships fall apart. Media folks so gleefully report these things-- it's fucking obnoxious.

Seeing people like this break up would be sad-- as sad as many relationship splits. Look, if they are having a shitty time together, then they should split up. If they are fine, then leave them alone.

Earthquake 2011: The East Coast

Wow, talk about creepy, man... So I was sitting in my office, finishing up a project I was working on and getting ready to go out for lunch. Suddenly, I felt this odd sensation. At first I thought it was the way my chair had moved, but it wasn't just the was all around me. Not hard, not severe, but enough to be very noticable. I thought that maybe it was just me, until I saw nearly everyone in my office stand up, with wide eyes and confusion on their faces. "What was that?" someone asked. "Was that an earthquake?" someone else asked. Then 3/4 of the office fled. The rest of us looked out the windows (we're on the 10th floor) wondering what the hell that was-- was in construction, or a small explosion?. Then the Fire Chief's voice boomed over the loudspeaker: "Please evacuate the building". So we did.

From what I've gathered so far, this was a 5.9 earthquake originating about 30 miles outside of Richmond, VA. That's pretty amazing, that we were able to feel that from all the way in New York City! My mom, who lives in South Jersey, felt the house shake. And there are folks that felt it as far north as Connecticut. In addition, the White House, Pentagon, and Capital Building were evacuated as well. So I guess this is what happens when you elect a black president that allows gays to marry and provides health care for all Americans. Stay tuned to see how the Republicans spin THIS one.

You know what's wild-- the NY Daily News had an article about whether or not an earthquake could hit New York City, which was published five months ago! At this point, no one knows how it happened or why. Well, maybe they do-- but I haven't heard anything about it yet, and can't really write about it. I can say that for a split second I had a 9/11 flash back, which was a bit horrifying. Even my cellphone wouldn't work, which also happened on 9/11. After feeling that initial shake, I waited for something horrible to happen. But it didn't.

Well, I think the worse thing that happened was that we had to go back into the building when everything was cleared. I wanted to go to a bar! Oh well...maybe the next "disaster"....

Republican Congressman is the NEW Harriet Tubman

Politicians never seem to run out of stupid things to say. Case in point, Republican Congressman from Florida Allen West. This fellow recently made a statement that was not only moronic, but SO GODDAMNED hypocritical that it makes the head spin, then pop off, and fall into the toilet.

Now, there are not that many blacks in the Republican party. To wit, they are often maligned by other blacks as being akin to an Uncle Tom; how could they embrace and be a part of a party whose members have proven to be anything but inclusive of blacks. These are a small number of people that have strong political differences from the Democratic party. These are people that may consider themselves to be Conservatives-- both fiscally and socially. Like any Conservative, one of their many issues are with Liberal programs, or "entitlements", that they feel coddle and pamper the poor and the other words, things like welfare and unemployment insurance make people lazy. I don't know about you, but I've had to collect unemployment checks...and NOTHING is more of a motivator than busting your ass to earn a REAL salary!

Many Republicans feel that when it comes to the "Black Vote" (coveted by some, scoffed at and ignored by others), they say that Democrats have taken black folks for granted. In other words, the reason why black folks want nothing to do with Republicans is because they will always automatically vote for Democrats. There is a frustration with some black Republicans in getting more of "their people" on what they feel is the right side (literally). Especially now, with a black Democratic president, their is a perception that blacks will NEVER turn to the Republican party. But now, with Black unemployment higher than it's ever been, many Republicans (black AND white) are starting to ask black folks: How well off were you BEFORE Barack Obama?

This is the issue at hand here-- the recession in America has hit no other group as hard as blacks. While the unemployment rate for the nation is at about 9.1%, for blacks it's more like 15%. Now, there were hopes (and fears) that once a black president was elected, that blacks would just take over EVERYTHING. You heard white folks fearing their jobs, homes, livelihood would be overtaken and overrun by black folks. At the same time, you had black folks convinced that they would be living on Easy Street, now that there was a black president. Both of these groups were wrong, then AND now, and for the remainder of Obama's time in office (yes, he WILL get re-elected).

When you look at the circumstances effecting this country, you start to see a pattern. That pattern transcends race; it just happens to effect it ONLY by proxy, in regards to our history. Blacks in America were at one point the slave class. At the end of the slave era, there was a surge to in the black community to better themselves-- they built schools and churches, got involved in government, built homes and town halls-- blacks were on the way to growing into a substantial and respectable group. That is, until the Confederates were pardoned and allowed to extract their revenge on what free blacks had created. Everything that blacks had built was destroyed. Any man, or woman, who worked at making a difference was killed. Blacks were shunned, beaten, demoralized, excluded from nearly EVERY ASPECT of American life. And because the law would do NOTHING to stop these things from happening, from there grew a complacency built from fear, terror, and disregard. These days, the fear and terror are no longer there...but the complacency is so imbedded in the community that it will take severe measures to rectify it.

Education; the link to solving ALL problems that plague our people. That is what is not only missing from our country, but is DESPERATELY lacking in the black community. The same type of education that, in the pre-Emancipation era would have gotten one killed, is what will empower and elevate a group-- ANY group. America is in a very anti-science/anti-intellectual mindset at the moment. Black folks are going to be effected by this the most. It is because of the lack of education in America that we are getting slaughtered in the global market. Kids in China and India are outpacing kids in America by numbers that are nothing but embarrassing. A lack of education has crippled our economy and is contributing to the high unemployment rate. These are problems that have been mounting and growing for well over a decade...but of course, it's all Obama's fault. And not just him-- when it comes to the failures and disappointments in the black community, it's also the fault black leadership...and according to Allen West, Democratic Representative Maxine Waters is a big part of that problem.

Maxine Waters made  headlines last week while speaking to folks at a jobs fair in Atlanta by begging President Obama to pay more attention to the problems in the black community. She says that many blacks are disappointed by Obama, because they feel that he is not doing enough for blacks. Personally, I think this is bullshit-- I mean, if Hillary Clinton had won the White House, or John McCain...the black community would STILL be is despair. It has NOTHING TO DO with Obama's lack of willingness to help blacks...the problem is that many blacks REFUSE TO HELP THEMSELVES! I am sick and tired of hearing black folks complain about how they don't have this or that, or how whites are still holding them back-- typical bullshit. When I look at my family, and black friends...I don't see people that are suffering! I see people that are hard working, who never had to play the victim role to get what they wanted. There are plenty of black folks out there that bust their ass, get an education, and work HARD. So when I hear these other blacks bitch, it makes me sick. Stop being a fucking victim and DO SOMETHING with yourself! But I digress...
After Rep. Waters made these statements, Allen West appeared on the O'Reilly Factor, and was asked about what he feels about this issue:

If this guy is Harriet Tubman, I'm W.E.B. DuBois. So, he is the savior that will help lead black folks out of the clutches of the evil, enabling Democrats, huh? Well, that's a very noble cause, and very big of him to get involved. Well, it WOULD be...but, you see-- the thing is that Rep. West has a brother (not "brotha", but an actual sibling), who has been out of work for a long time. Arlan West (wow-- those are some uncreative parents right there) went to his brother to ask him what he should do about finding a job. Do you know what Allen West, the Republican "Harriet Tubman" fighting against the Democratic overseers, told his brother to do? Go to the job's fair in Atlanta, and find Maxine Waters to ask her for help.

This motherfucker-- this hypocritical, arrogant, obnoxious, do-nothing shit-bird tells his brother to go to a Democrat for help!!!!! Can you fucking believe that-- after all the talk about how Democrats don't do shit for people, specifically black folks, and pointing out how Maxine Waters herself does NOTHING to really help the black community...he has the BALLS to send his brother to her.

Can you believe that?! I mean, this is somewhat stunning to me-- how the hell do you talk that much shit about someone, and then use them to try to help your family?! Allen West is either the dumbest motherfucker out there, OR he's just an asshole politician playing the game. Either way, what does this bullshit do to serve our country, or the people in it? This is just a fucking game to most of the people in Washington. And it doesn't look like any of this is going to stop any time soon.

So Allen-- or, should I say "Harriet"-- how's it feel to surrender your kin to the overseer on the plantation? That is TRULY some Uncle Tom bullshit right there....

Bert and Ernie: Gay Rights Icons?

For as long as I can remember, there has been a running joke about the homosexual relationship between the Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie. And it was pretty much accepted as that: a JOKE. No one that I knew really believed that the two of them were gay. Well, apparently, there are some grown people that not only believe that they are gay, but have been actively petitioning The Sesame Street Workshop to have Bert and Ernie get married.  This bullshit has been brought to you by the letters F and U.

Come on, people-- really? Why the hell would you want to sexualize a relationship on a children's television show? And don't give me that "homophobe" bullshit-- implying that Bert and Ernie are gay introduces sex into their relationship! PERIOD! You have taken a platonic friendship and added sex to it-- it's as simple as that. Nothing in their relationship (and I have always been a fan) implies that they are romantic with each other, or fucking in any way, shape, or form! In other words...THEY ARE NOT GAY!

This would be almost as dumb as petitioning Hanna-Barbera to own up to the fact that Shaggy and Scooby are stoners and should support NORML.

The Sesame Street Workshop made the following statement regarding the matter:

Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets™ do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation.

So there you have it! Can we please drop this silliness now, please?

Successful Black Man Meme

It is rare that I break into uncontrollable laughter for minutes at a time. RARE. A friend of mine sent me a link to the Successful Black Man meme, and well sir...I laughed my ASS off. Basically, you load up the site and you get a bunch of squares like the one above. The top bit of copy is something "black"-- you know, somethin' some brotha on da block would say. The copy of the bottom clarifies that this is not merely some "brotha talk", but the musings of a well-educated, successful black fellow. Here are a few that had me "rotf/lmao"...

This is some right stupid shit-- stupid FUNNY!

The People V. Mitt Romney

I love a good populous uprising! Especially when it's targeted towards someone who claims to be a man of the people. When it comes to that claim, no man is more full of shit that Mitt Romney, billionaire Republican presidential hopeful.

Here we have a clip from the Iowa State Fair on August 11th, 2011. Mitt gets into a bit of a shouting match with two members of the crowd; one asks a question about raising taxes on the rich, the other defending Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.

Poor, misunderstood Mitt, huh? Getting attacked and being maligned just because he's all successful and rich. I love the line about how never, in his memory, as anybody been attacked for being successful. That's because, Mitt, that the rich are paying fewer taxes than they EVER have in this country's history. These days, it's hard to understand why the rich and the wealthy get off easier, pay fewer (or no) taxes, when the people that work for them end up paying MORE.

How about that answer for the fellow asking about Medicare/Medicaid. He does that filibuster thing that people do when they don't have an answer--  you know, the "Can I finish? Will you let me finish? Can I talk now?" It's one of the oldest stalling tactics in the book. Then how does he answer the question: "I won't raise taxes!" I can't believe that this is another asshole who says things like "I won't raise taxes on the American people!" At the very least, Republicans in the House and Senate have changed that talking point to "I won't raise taxes on job creators". The fact that Mitt Romney is out of touch is nothing new, though.

This is something else that he said at the same gathering:

"Corporations are people, too." Seriously, Mitt? I mean, you've gotta hand it to him-- he's doing the work of showing the Republican Party's true colors that the nearly every other Republican is trying to hide: the fact that the ONLY people they care about are the rich and wealthy. I can truly appreciate how candid Romney is. I don't see how this talk is going to put him in that front runner status that everyone is talking about.

These days the rich and the wealthy are being maligned because many of them (not all) are taking advantage of this country, and for all the wrong reasons. They take, take, take, and give nothing in return. They don't give back to the country that gave them their wealth. Honestly, I believe it's because they see the writing on the wall in regards to the future of that America has no future. Not a profitable one, anyway. It's as if they want to get all that they can before the bottom falls out. They have given up on this country. If that's not the case, and if all of this is merely for political reasons...such as waiting around for Obama's health care and tax policies...then that may be even worse. If these people are willing to let this country fall apart so that they can either destroy Obama and/or get their own people in charge...then maybe...just maybe...we need a little bit of London in our lives.

Maurice Johnson: Three College Degrees, Homeless

I don't know whether to be sad or angry about this story.

The following is a video posted by a YouTube user named "60Days60Nights" (an interesting fellow himself). The video was made the day before the world was supposedly going to end (May 20th, 2011). This is an interview with a 55 year-old man named Maurice Johnson. This is a man who gave up everything he owned to take care of his mother, who had alzhiemers and was about to lose her house. He is a man with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Plasma Physics-- a graduate from Dartmouth and Purdue. Not only is he unable to get a job (and has been screwed out of a couple of them), he is LIVING ON THE STREETS of Boston.

Listen to his story:

Can you believe this shit? A shitty health care system, a horrible economy, and an even worse support system for the homeless. This man is a smart as they come-- smarter than most, with degrees in the sciences and a background in mathematics and a teacher to boot! LIVING ON THE STREETS!

When we have some of the best and brightest minds in the country living homeless on the streets, with little or no prospects...what the hell does that say about the United States of America? We should all be embarrassed about this. There is not an excuse in world as to why this is happening. Plenty of reasons, but no excuse.

This is just one man. Imagine how many stories of lives like this are existing all over our country.  Towns and cities are being decimated. Employers are begging for workers, but refuse to pay what they are worth. It's getting harder and harder to merely LIVE a life-- to pay rent/mortgage, bills, car payments (IF you're lucky enough to have a car!), not to mention things like FOOD.

I can truly say that we are NOT living in the greatest nation in the world. If we were a great nation, none of this would be happening. We would be educating our people. We would be providing proper healthcare for those who cannot afford it. Our so-called "job creators" that the Republicans like to protect would actually be CREATING JOBS. By the way, if you are a "job creator" and you are creating jobs over seas instead of in're a traitor to your nation. Plain and simple.

What are we going to do, people? Honestly, probably nothing. People who are lucky enough to have jobs, and homes, and cars, and can feed their family, and can go to the movies and rent DVDs and download mp3's from iTunes, and take trips on the weekend...people like that have their own problems. Most people, unfortunately, don't have the time or the energy to care about others. People like Maurice Johnson, someone with the mind that he has, made to walk the streets with the weight of his shit existence in this country-- with no family to turn to, no money, no possessions, no prospects...

I fear for this country.

"Nyan Cat"

So while sitting at my desk at work, the young lady sitting next to me starts laughing. When I ask her what about, she directs me to this link:

"Nyan Cat" was apparently all-the-rage this past Spring, posted by a YouTube user named "saraj00n", based on the Pop-Tart Cat 8-bit animation by "prguitarman", and set to a song by Daniwell-P. It's funny how some of these MEMEs are localized to a certain extent-- some of these things we all manage to see at about the same time, others are only known by a relative few. Well, 30 million views is hardly a few. Apparently, "nyan" in Japanese(?) means "meow", which are also the lyrics to the crazy song (called " Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya").

Can't get enough of "Nyan Cat"? How about a "smooth Jazz: version:

Feeling international? How about Mexican Nyan Cat:

A Patriot are you? There's American Nyan Cat:

I'm 1/4 Jamaican-- what about me?

Then there's Nyan Cat 2: Rainbow Boogaloo:

And lastly, here's one for all you (us) stoners out there (teeheehee):

There are literally DOZENS of these on YouTube. Go and have some fun.

SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE CAT! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Dutches of Alba Marries Alfoso Diez

So what's been going on in the "controversial marriage" department, lately? Look no further than the third marriage for Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, the 85 year-old Dutches of Alba to the 61 year-old "commoner", and Bruce Springsteen impersonator, Alfonso Diez.

Now, you look at that picture above and you're probably thinking-- first of all, what is up with Cayetana's face? And two, Alfonso is a good-looking there is ONLY one reason why he is hooking up with this woman. And that reason has a 4.9 followed by eight zeros, with a dollar sign right in front. The later reason is why her six kids were EXTREMELY skeptical of this guy's intentions, along with their mother's penchant for controversial marriages. So, to prove to her kids that there is nothing but true love involved in this relationship, she divided up her fortune among her kids before they tied the knot. After all, NOTHING says true love like insuring your kids get their inheritance.

Back to Cayetana's face. It appears that she has a thing for plastic surgery. There are many women out there who are horrified by the idea of growing old gracefully and without cutting up their faces in an attempt to regain their youthful appearance. As always, however, many women who go this route end up looking freakish and weird. I mean, just look at what she looked like about 55 years ago:

If she just left her face alone, I think she would have looked far better than she does now. But hey-- it's not my life, or my face. If this makes her feel good, and if Alfonso if happy and in love and be it.

And so we have the Duke and Dutches of Alba. Let's wish them well.

Michelle Bachmann on the Cover of Newsweek

It's what many are calling a controversial image. They're saying that this photograph makes Congresswoman and GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann look "crazy". It's funny how her supporters are making these claims-- saying that the woman that they are so fond of is being made to look as if she is insane or something.

I've seen many picture of Bachmann. Let's take a look at a few:

Okay, that's Steve Carell-- but I guess that's what people are getting at. The Newsweek image makes her look a little creepy-- I guess that's what people are saying or thinking. This image, to me, is what she looks like AND sound like. I think it's a perfect representation of who she is and what she represents.

Is that fair? Is this image fair? Does it adequate represent her, or is it unfair? Well, let's take a look at some of things that Bachmann has said over the years:
"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas."  April, 2009
“Very effective way to do this with a bunch of second graders, is take a picture of ‘The Lion King’ for instance, and a teacher might say, ‘Do you know that the music for this movie was written by a gay man?’ The message is: I’m better at what I do, because I’m gay.” -- November 2004
“There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design.”  --2006
''(Gay marriage) is probably the biggest issue that will impact our state and our nation in the last, at least, thirty years. I am not understating that.''
''Does that mean that someone's 13-year-old daughter could walk into a sex clinic, have a pregnancy test done, be taken away to the local Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, have their abortion, be back and go home on the school bus? That night, mom and dad are never the wiser."
Crazy? Of the bat-shit variety, I'd say so.  Look, there are a great-many pictures of Bachmann out there. I tried to pick the most flattering ones that I found, and not purposefully posting shots that made her look bad or crazy. But that is who she is. That is what the lady looks like. While she is not unattractive, she in no way comes close to the hotness that is Sarah Palin. That's right, I said it-- Palin, while equally bat-shit insane, is far more attractive to me that Bachmann; Palin is a MILF. Bachman is a MILFINEWA..."mother-I'd-like-to-fuck-if-noone-else-was-available".

Now, I'm sure that she could PROBABLY take a better picture...but maybe she was a bit off that day. Maybe the photographer didn't see the attractiveness in her. You can't deny that she's got this stinging intensity in her eyes that I'm sure some people might find endearing. It's the same kind of intensity that reminds me of a Stepford Wife. Or, someone else that had devoted followers:

"When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide, then I stop and I turn and I go for I ride, when I get to the bottom when I see you again.....yeah, yeah, yeah!"

The Female Orgasm v. Science

The Journal of Sexual Medicine has recently cited that researchers have claimed that there is a fairly definitive map to the female orgasm. Apparently, these people have been able to map the exact locations that bridge the vagina, cervix, and nipples on the brain's sensory cortex. All of this, and they say that they are still unable to locate the G-spot, and are still unable to explain why some women still do not have orgasms. Some scientist claim that the G-spot either is genetically present or not, or that it just doesn't exist in women, or doesn't exist at all. The lead scientist in the Journal of Sexual Medicine is Barry R. Komisaruk, PhD. And that's the have someone with a dick trying to break down the female orgasm.

This is one instance where I believe that science is not really going to help very much. Sure, it's all well and good to clinically identify the biological factors with which a woman could possibly reach an orgasm. The major flaw in this study is the fact that the female orgasm has a lot to do with psychology as well. If you're driving through the fog, a map won't do you any good. In other words, one who thinks that all that is needed to make a woman cum is a mechanical instruction guide is a fool.

What a study like this implies is that even if you are holding a woman against her will, you could just hit the right places, and magically she's going to cum. Not by a LONG SHOT. Anyone who has ever brought a woman to orgasm knows that it takes a lot more than just one specific spot, or a definitive map. Understand that every woman is different. I repeat, EVERY WOMAN IS DIFFERENT. Some women can come to orgasm through penetration. Others can get there through manual or oral stimulation. Some women like clitoris play, others think clitoral stimulation is too much. The only way to be sure what a woman wants is...PAY ATTENTION!

I know it's a wild idea, you know, to actually pay attention to the woman that has allowed you be naked with her in bed (or on the couch, or the back seat of you car, or the desk in your office). If you're doing something, and she's not responding, CHANGE IT UP. You have to be able to improvise. What got your high school girlfriend off will more-than-likely not work with any other woman you meet after that. Hell, you may not be the one that can bring her to orgasm at all-- maybe you hands are too rough, your penis is too small (or too big), or your teeth get in the way.

Ultimately, if a woman is not comfortable, she will never have an orgasm-- even if she is able to have them quite regularly. That would be the first step, boys (and girls)-- make sure your lady is in a place where she can relax and focus. Once a woman is in a place where she is comfortable, it's up to her partner to either do the right thing, or be accommodating enough to make it happen. What does that mean? Well, maybe not engaging in cunnilingus like you're painting a fence. Or working on your stroke ("the motion of the ocean"). Or maybe she needs to be on top, so she can do "the rub"-- or maybe you can do "the rub" for her (the stroke, once again). Maybe you're fucking her too hard...maybe it's not hard enough. Play with her nipples, or not-- she'll let you know. Try different positions. Smack her ass a few times. Bite her neck or her shoulders. Suck on her earlobes. Etc, etc, etc....

In conclusion, fuck the science and fuck your lady...WELL.

US S&P Rating Downgraded to AA+

Look at what President Obama did! He let Standard & Poor's downgrade America's credit rating from AAA to AA+! Well, that's what Republican opportunists like Tim Pawlenty and Michelle Bachmann are saying. What else would you expect them, or any other Republican to say? The would NEVER take responsibility or accountability for their roll in the devastation of the American economy. Over 10 years of piss-poor economic policy in the hands of Republicans, and now the strong-arming of their pro-rich, anti-middle class stance on tax and entitlements have helped to make things worse.

I think anyone really paying attention to this situation, and not taking a gang-warfare perspective (blue v. red, muthafucka!) can see that the Republicans are bringing a great deal of toxicity to the political conversation in Washington. The Democrats are doing no better-- their weak spines and passivity make it easy for the Rovian rhetoric to control the debate and push politicians into making what can only be characterized as shitty decisions.

What's amazing to me is how the same people that created this situation are trying to blame it all on the president. These are the same people that complained about the lack of jobs that they helped slash in the first place. These are the same people that allow tax cuts for the wealthy, so that the top 1% can horde their money instead of putting it back into the system. The so-called "job creators" are not doing their jobs. Honestly, I can't imagine what the millions of unemployed in this country can do, or are going to do. How can they live with no income? And with Republicans wanting to cut unemployment benefits, what else is there?

Everyone is saying that this is the nail in the coffin for Obama. With a shitty economy, a small and much-maligned stimulus package, a poorly-marketed health care plan, and now a downgrade in the US credit rating...many people think that he's finished come November 2011. I'm thinking not. I think that people understand more than the political pundants and commentators that it is clear that no matter what the president has done, or wants to do, the Republicans are ONLY interested in winning elections, keeping their jobs, and making sure their wealthy constituents are able to continue gaming the system. Who is going to do better? Mitt Romney, who kept quiet during the entire debt ceiling debate? Tim Pawlenty, who doesn't know his ass from his elbow? Michelle Bachmann-- give me a break. Newt Gingrich is as dumb as a pile of galvanized screws. Who's it going to be? Really, who?

People need to gang up on the GOP, and get them to do what the bulk of the American people want, and not what the rich fucks want. STOP VOTING AGAINST YOUR INTERESTS!

Fox News Presents: Obama's Hip Hop BBQ!

"Oh, no they didn't!"

"Oh, yes they did!"

Leave to Fox News to take anything that President Obama does, and make it into a "black" thing. I'm surprised they didn't just call this "Blackie Blackerson Blacks it Up Black!"

This is all in tandem with the job's report that was released today, which wasn't horrible...but it didn't set the world on fire either. Last month, there were 117,000 new jobs added to the economy, dropping the unemployment rate from 9.2 to 9.1 percent. Again, not great...but it's something. All of this still doesn't mean that the economy is growing at all. It's really painful for an economy that relies on consumers, when employers in certain sectors just are not hiring. And that's the key there-- CERTAIN SECTORS. I work in the advertising industry, and there plenty of jobs available. If you're a designer, or a programmer, or a project manager, you have tons of options. These are very marketable skills, but not something that all people can do.

It's probably safe to say that the bulk of job seekers out there are people that work in manufacturing-- assembling products, shipping products...factory workers. Since many American companies are reticent to hire because of fears of either rising taxes or health care costs (things they don't worry about when they employ people over seas), there are barely any jobs being created in the private sector. Which means that the government should step in to help pick up the slack. But Republicans won't allow that. So, we get a circle jerk involving people not willing to do anything to help Americans get jobs on either side of the equation; they are getting screwed by the public and private sector at the same time!

People at Fox News are not going to look at these facts. You can't fit that kind of information into a pithy headline. So they opt for "Blackie" bullshit. Let's take a look:

To certain people, this just reads like a bunch of niggers and their nigger-loving friends dancing, and eating chicken and ribs, and listening to jungle music. Seriously, there is NO REASON why the President's 50TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION should be front page news on ANY reputable news organization's website. Turning 50 is a milestone in any normal human being's life. It's like turning 16, or 21-- it's a big deal to most people. I don't see how this is front page news, with the piss-poor job market being mentioned along with it. I don't remember Fox News bitching about George W. Bush playing golf while there were wars going on:

Granted, he later took it upon himself to stop playing golf while kids were dying...big of him, huh? But I digress...

It's clear what Fox News is doing with this Obama hip-hop birthday bullshit. I mean, you look at that page there, and you see NO MENTION of jobs other than in that headline. It's just the menu and the guest list, and his insistence on people a party. Wow, that's some dangerous black shit right there! And that's all this is-- make no mistake. It's race-baiting garbage. It's showing the Fox News audience how this guy is throwing "hip-hop" parties (i.e. "nigger shindig"), while the economy and job market (a national catastrophe 10 years in the making) is falling apart.

There is no news here. It's obnoxious. It's ignorant. It's sad. It's Fox News!

Matt Damon Supports The Teachers

I never thought I would see the day when we would have to DEFEND the worth of our nations teachers. In a world where there are idiots making generalized negative comments about the lack of "good" teachers, I can say that I really have no idea what the hell they are talking about.

Before I explore this any further, I'd like to play this video which shows Matt Damon being interviewed by some vapid mouth-breather and her brain-dead camera man. Mr. Damon's mother (on the left) is a teacher, and asked her son to accompany her to a pro-education Save Our Schools march:

First of all, I want to thank Mr. Damon for what he was saying-- unfortunately the video is cut off, and I would love to hear the rest.

There are a flood of thoughts that I want to purge out of my fingers and onto this tiny Mac keyboard about people like that horrible "reporter", and others that have complained about how teachers have it easy, and they're lazy, and they get summers off so they don't have to work as hard as everyone else...Oh my God, I could freaking scream right now.

My mother taught for nearly 30 years in the Philadelphia school system. She was a teacher because she cared about kids-- particularly young, black kids. The only thing she cared about was making sure that the young kids that passed through her classroom left with a sense of self-worth, and had the tools that they needed to compete in a world that is constantly rallying against them. My mother (now retired as of this year) was a good teacher-- she was GREAT teacher. She was one of those teachers that her former students sought out YEARS after being in her classroom to thank her for being a great influence on them-- I've seen it. Aside from my mother, I have a few friends that teach. Let me tell you-- it's a THANKLESS job. The pay is horrible, you get little or no support, and you often times have to dip into YOUR OWN POCKET to make sure you have things like paper and pencils in your classroom for the kids! I've known teachers that have reached out to friends for donations of supplies so that they could have something for their kids! THIS is why people are morons in this country-- because WE DON'T CARE ABOUT EDUCATION!

The 90s were supposed to bring about something called "The Information Age" in the form of the internet. It was supposed to aggregate information for the masses on a scale unprecedented in our history! When I was a kid, and I wanted to know something, I had to go to the library, or look through a set of encyclopedias to get the information that I needed. In the 70s and the 80s, there was no internet-- there was no Google, or You Tube, or Twitter, or cell phones, or smart phones. A laptop was really a table top. The most powerful computers had 64k or 128k processors. To live in the world we live in today compared to what it was 20-30 years's like we're living in a science fiction movie. It's almost literally like Blade Runner...except for the flying cars. There is a WEALTH of knowledge out there to explore...and the only thing people seem to want to do with it is watch porn and videos of people fighting.

It's amazing to me how little most people know. No one seems to be interested in educating themselves. Why? Because people don't like to think. That's what they say, anyway-- they don't want to do the work. They want easy fixes to complicated problems. They want someone else to tell them what to think or how to feel. People always say that they are too busy-- too busy to read the news, too busy to write a novel, too busy to learn an instrument, too busy to make a film, too busy to do ANYTHING but eat, sleep, shit, and work. The problem isn't time...the problem is desire.

People don't want to improve themselves. They may say that they want to do things...but really, what are they doing to get themselves to that thing they want so much? It's a mountain of excuses as to why they can't do this, or do that, or read this, or learn that. The next thing they know, the world is passing them by. They get laid off, they vote for the wrong person (or not at all), they can't understand why their country is falling apart, they don't know why their kids are not doing well, they don't understand why foreigners are taking their jobs...all bullshit! If you pay attention, if you get educated, if you stop looking for easy answers to tough'd be surprised how far you could get.

Education is the cornerstone to solving every single one of the problems facing America and Americans today. When we disregard our educators, and blame them for a system that they are desperately trying to navigate, we are KILLING ourselves. Do you know how frustrating it is to work your ass off, fighting a constant uphill battle, with YOUR OWN PEOPLE AGAINST YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING...and with little or no appreciation, shitty pay, and yes, you may have your summers off...but you're probably going to either try to teach summer school, or get a second job. It's the painfully ignorant that think that teachers just sit on their asses, high on the hog, enjoying their summers, barely doing any work at all, leaving at 3:00pm to go shopping....all of those stupid, misinformed assumptions are made by people who-- ironically enough-- HAVE NO EDUCATION. They are the victims of the very system they malign, and for all the wrong reasons.

The sad thing is that this country is going to get worse. I hate to say it, but it is. People don't care about education. They don't want to learn. They don't want to work hard. They just want to sit on their asses and GET what they FEEL THEY DESERVE. And they are...they're getting a country full of dumb fucks that will get left behind while the rest of the world flies by them. I've said it once, and I'll say it 1,000,000 times...if you haven't seen "Idiocracy", see it. THAT is where our country is headed. And it is more frightening that anything you'll ever see.

Suzi Barrett = Funny

About 6 years ago, I had thought about moving to LA. I had been there a few times over the years, and I really loved it out there. It's warm, chicks are cute, you can throw a rock and hit GREAT Mexican food...I wanted to go out there to become a screenwriter, but ended up getting an offer to run a small video production company. That went to shit, then I had a kid...then another yeah, probably not  happening. Bummer? Eh, maybe.

My lady lived in LA for a few years-- she's an actress, so it was beneficial for her. She moved back to New York a couple of months before we met because she had basically had enough. It seems like that's the general consensus when it comes to New Yorkers moving to LA-- they end up hating it, and moving back home. I dunno if I would have hated it, but...I guess it's best to like it from a far.

That's what brings me to this video posted by Suzi Barrett, and actress best known as "The Elevator Girl" from those 1-800-DENTIST and Esurance commercials. I don't really know the origin of this video, but I've gotta's goddamn funny. She seems to be talking to someone (or something) named "OT" about leaving "Boom"...? I guess? She then begins to list all the stuff that sucks about LA. It's for laughing:

If this video goes viral enough, this chick's gonna be gettin' MAD gigs, son!

Happy Birthday, Mr. President: Obama Turns 50

Today is the birthday of Barack H. Obama. Isn't that nice? He's 50 years old today. That makes him a Leo. This is what his horoscope on says:

Your friends are on your side, even if they don’t necessarily agree with everything you say or do. Count on them today to step up and help you deal with any opposition you face. Have confidence!
Sort-of spot on, eh? His approval ratings continue to be over 40%, but some of his colleagues are unhappy with a few of the decisions that he's made lately-- particularly in regards to that idiot Debt Ceiling debate.  He has quite a bit of work to do to convince his liberal and progressive base that he is worthy of a second term. Not that I'm too worried about that-- the man WILL get elected again. But seriously-- he's gotta whip those GOP pricks around a bit, so that Washington can finally do right by the American people, and not just the rich jerks. "Job creators" my ass...

"Wigger Wednesday"

Wow, looks like it's "race day" here at the C*Notes blog! First the adults, now the kids!

Some idiots at Red Wing High School in Minnesota have a homecoming event called "Wigger Wednesday". For those of you who don't know, "wigger" stands for "white nigger". In other words, it's a modern day minstrel show. It's whites "acting" black, or what they perceive to be black, or nigger-ish, or whatever rolls around in their stupid little heads. They even have a Facebook page, which I'm sure will come down pretty soon. It's run by some piece of shit named Zack Bryne, and so far 18 fuck-tards have agreed to join in on this bullshit.

The only reason I can't get too upset about this is because these are nothing more that stupid kids that have absolutely no concept of history and don't understand the context of their stupidity. Most kids don't understand their history-- you can see that in popular culture. For example, that awful song "Otis" by Kanye West and Jay-Z (WHY, Jay-Z, WHY?!), or the mountain of movie remakes coming out of Hollywood. Kids think that this shit is original,  having no clue that there was a whole world out their before their father's nutted into their mother's cooch. So obviously, when they hear the word "nigger" or "nigga" being thrown around either by their favorite music/comedy stars, or by their ignorant relatives or friends....they think that it gives them license to do dumb things like this. And look-- it's a free country, you can do what you want. But just like with the Al Sharpton V. Pat Buchanan thing...don't act surprised when people knocking at your door, wanting to kick your teeth in!
So now, there's a class action suit against the school for actually allowing this to go on. The young lady who is bringing up this lawsuit was a cheerleader named Quera Pruitt. She was distraught, depressed and very upset about this stuff, and even went to her parents and school officials to help clear this up. But the school officials allegedly wanted to just ignore everything and hope the situation would just go away. However, this stupid "Wigger Day" even has gone on for nearly 4 years with minimal to no intervention or prevention. Unfortunately, Quera was in such a bad state, that she damn-near dropped out of school. I know EXACTLY how she feels.

I went to predominately white schools from 3rd grade to 12th grade, and I have to be honest with you...I could not WAIT to get away from those white pieces of shit! That was exactly how a 17 year-old Charles felt by the time I graduate high school. I HATED those people. They were nothing to me but a bunch of inbret, bigoted white trash. That is TRULY how I felt. And, not for nothin', they gave me EVERY REASON to think that way. I, too, was depressed and absolutely miserable. It wasn't just the white kids, either. The black kids were nothing more to me than nigger trash. I had a shitty existence in high school. I was caught in the middle of two groups of idiots: black kids didn't think I was "black enough", and white kids saw me as a dorky little negro. Granted, not EVERYONE I knew in high school fit into this mold...I DID have a few friends there...but for the most part, I hated every minute of it.

My high school class, The Class of 1990, recently had their 20 year reunion. I was asked by some of my former classmates on Facebook why I did not go. The previous paragraph is why. I felt no need to pay $80 to see 7-8 people that I like, and be surrounded by 40-50 people that I hate. Wasn't worth it to me. I don't hold the same grudges that I did back then...I'm just not interested in seeing or spending time with people that I don't care about. And the comments I would have made, and the trouble I would have stirred up...not worth the time or energy.

I want to say to young Miss Quera that you are out of high school, you need to move to some place like New York or LA. Someplace where you will be surrounded by people that not only look like you, but people who have better things to do than focus on stupid racial bullshit. The great thing is that assholes like Zack Bryne, and the other shit heads that take part in "Wigger Wednesday" will probably never go any farther than they are in Minnesota. You will literally NEVER have to deal with inbred trash like that again. And his stupid ass will be stuck there-- even if he decides to go to college...someone like this clearly doesn't have the brain cell count to make it very far in the world.

So don't worry. You can move on. Fuck those morons. Hey, they'll always have their "Wigger Wednesday". I'm sure if some folks at a predominately black high school came up with "Honky Hump-Day", there would probably be quite an uproar. Actually...that might not be a bad idea...

Al Sharpton V. Pat Buchanan

Oh brother. Or should I say "brotha".

Pat Buchanan has a habit of saying stupid things. It's who he is,  it's what he does. Granted, there are times that he makes some very astute political points, especially being that he's a conservative. But that's the thing, he's a true conservative in the classic sense, when it comes to economic and domestic issues. However, when it comes to basic human common sense...sometimes he falls a bit short.

Al Sharpton has recently been named a regular host of a show on MSNBC. This is a great thing, considering the road that he's had to travel to get to that point. He's a very VERY divisive and controversial figure that is a mere shadow of the person he was back in the day-- back in the track suit-wearing days. He's become an elder statesman, of sorts-- and has a lot of smart things to say. He is also of a generation that has seen some ugly things in America. So when Pat Buchanan made a remark, calling President Obama Al's "boy" can guess how that played out:

What white folks have to understand is that when you have CENTURIES of American history to reference with regards to really need to pay attention to what you say, and who you say it to. Now, Pat may very well have not meant "boy" in the context that Sharpton took it...but Mr. Sharpton was of a generation that was called the "N-Word" openly, and without apology. Whether or not you think this is an irrelevant issue, or "making a mountain out of a mole hill"...you cannot disregard the experiences that older black folks have had in this country. Believe me-- I've heard many stories from my family about some of the outlandish things that white folks have said to them-- things that today would get some of these people beat up.

My father, my mother, grandparents, even I have been called a "nigger" by some ignorant-piece-of-shit white coward.  I definitely say "coward" in my case because "nigger" has usually been shouted at me from a moving car. One time in elementary school, this kid named Stephen Rosen called me a "black ape" because I grabbed him for shoving my cousin (a girl) to the ground. After he called me that, I wrapped my hands around his throat and had to be pried off by three other guys.

This story is sort of in line with another "incidental racial comment" made by Representative Doug Lamborn, when he compared Obama's association with the debt ceiling debate to a "tar baby":

Honestly, I don't know what these people are thinking. ESPECIALLY when you are of a generation that should know better! Of course, both of these men gave half-assed apologies for "misspeaking". It's funny how these people are always having to defend themselves by saying that they "misspoke".  Anyone that has read my writing or listened to me talk knows that I can say some pretty controversial things. And I always mean what I say-- I hardly ever "misspeak". In other words, I don't walk back comments that some people may find offensive. Have I been misinformed on certain things? Sure I have-- and I will correct myself when that happens. But you'll never see me walking back comments like, say, the one I made above about "ignorant-piece-of-shit white cowards" in the context of them calling me a "nigger" from a moving car. I meant exactly what I said. And so did these people. They knew EXACTLY what they were saying...but because they are politicians or pundants, and got a shit-storm of backlash...they had to apologize. But they would never say "I said something ignorant and stupid, and I'm sorry"...they say "I misspoke". Bull. Shit.

Some white folks wonder why it is that black folks still complain about racism in this country. Well, it's because some of you have your heads up your ass, and don't know your history. Pick up a book, and learn something. And maybe you'll start to see a change.

C*Notes: The Book is NOW AVAILABLE!

Three years in the making, three months in the compiling, and about 3 hours to get it online. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you "C*Notes: The Book"!

This is the first time I've ever tried to cash in on my writing, and it won't be the last. I've had a few people over the years tell me that I should be writing for a living. And it's not that I've never considered it. I tried my hand at screenwriting over a decade ago. The problem was that while people really liked my work, I was always being told that what I was writing was not marketable. "I love this-- this is great! I just don't know how I can sell this..." GOD, I hated that shit! I guess that's one of the reasons why I ended up working in the ad industry. It was a way for me to be creative while getting paid...and it was a way for me to learn about marketing. I guess the release of this book is a culmination of all of those skills. Not only did I write the books' contents, I created the eBook file, and designed the cover.

So what is "C*Notes: The Book"? Well, it's a compilation of articles from this blog that you're reading right now. The difference is that I went back and revised a few of the articles-- getting rid of typos, rewriting some things here and there, and also adding a few essays that you will not find anywhere else. On top of that, the book and the blog are two separate experiences. The book is an off-line experience, so there are no links, no relies entirely on the written word. Writing the blog is fairly easy, because I don't have to work as hard to articulate certain things. I can just link to a YouTube video or link to another article, which leaves me free to just bitch and moan without having to explain much. With the book, I basically leave it up to the reader as to whether or not you wish to explore the topics a bit more.

And what topics will you find in "C*Notes: The Book"? Well, the same one's you'd find here, of course! Here-- read the description that you can find right now on

Politics, sex, racism, celebrity, health care, religion, and weed. Here's an irreverent, but sincere look at the issues facing Americans today from writer/filmmaker/ad industry pixel-pusher Charles Conyers, Jr.

C*Notes: The Book is a compilation of articles and essays from Charles' "c*notes" blog. Here you will find blunt and often humorous assessments of current events from a guy with an abundance of opinions. Charles tackles a wide-range of topics, often citing events from his personal life-- such as the Health Care debate, through the prism of his father's death from colon cancer, or race-relations from the experience of growing up black in a predominately white New Jersey suburb. You can also read about the time he met, and got a hug, from Bruce Springsteen, or the time he attempted to introduce his fiance to Yoko Ono.

From the serious, to the lighthearted-- you can find it in C*Notes: The Book.

"C*Notes: The Book" is currently available in eBook format, and will soon be released in paperback. You can find it at Amazon, Barnes And Noble, and you can purchase it from my own site. And the best part: It's only $3.00!

Stay tuned for more literary treats from yours truly, including a science-fiction novel that I have been writing for the last 3 years now-- and may be out either by the end of this year, or early next year!

In the meantime, please enjoy the blog-- subscribe, send it to friends, spread the word! I'll love you for it....

Spider-Man is Black Now?!

Well, talk about being out of the loop...I am WAAAAAAAY OUT OF IT!!

First of all, I had NO IDEA that Marvel has killed off Peter Parker. In the 160th issue of "Ultimate Spider-Man", he is killed while trying to save Aunt May from the Green Goblin. Kind of poetic, since he has always felt responsible for his Uncle Ben's death (well...he WAS kind of responsible-- he let the killer go, after all...):

This has now given room to introduce an entirely new Spider-man, who is younger and from a completely different background. From what I've read...and I honestly have not read a lot...he is half-black and half-Hispanic:

There are many people on the inter-webs saying that the decision to make Spider-man more "ethnic', as it were, was inspired by Donald Glover trying to make a bid to become the next Spider-man in the reboot of the film franchise. This apparently is not the revamp/reboot of the entire Marvel Universe that DC Comics is doing...but it's still interesting.

I will say that this will be a great place to get my little boy into some of this stuff (he's 6 months old right now). Not that I wouldn't want him to learn the mythology of these characters, but it's a bit daunting I must say. I was born in the early 70s, and there was still a lot to take in when I got into comics. Add 40 years onto what's already existed...well, maybe rebooting wouldn't be such a bad thing. It'd be great to get a new generation into this stuff. At a time when conventions like ComiCon are HUGE events, it makes sense. When I was a kid, the only places you could get comics were at little "conventions" in hotel/motel basements, or book stores that had a crappy selection.

On top of all of this, when I was growing up there were little or NO black super heroes. I mean, you had Luke Cage (Power Man) and Blade...but that was about it. So for my son (MAYBE my daughter) to have super heroes that look like them...that's pretty freakin' cool to me!

Maybe the next generation will come up with new and interesting characters to go along side the establishment. And maybe they will mirror the American Experience more so than when I was a kid.

The Debt Ceiling Debacle: Or, What Happened to the "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs"?!

The Debt Ceiling. Most of us have been following this craziness for the last few weeks. Some of you have been following it for a couple of months. A few of you, for several months. Our nation and others have been holding their breath to see if American politicians would continue fighting to the point that the United States would go into default on their debts, which would have sent economies world-wide in to a tail-spin. Today at 11:59pm is the deadline for our political leaders to come to some sort of deal that will stop the US from defaulting, so that we will be able to hold up our financial obligations. With all the drama and hubris surrounding this issue, it's a miracle that anyone in Washington DC can properly order lunch, much less do their jobs properly.

Of course, partisans would argue that they HAVE BEEN doing their jobs. Watching three factions of the Republican Party (leadership/conservatives/'baggers)trying to lead is like watching a developmentally disabled child install a car stereo. It's equally uncomfortable and painful to see wishy-washy Democrats swing windmill their flaccid impotence in the wind. Floating in the middle this is our President. I hear a lot of people blaming Obama for not doing enough. "Doing enough"? Like what? Mark Martin could be driving a Pinto at Talladega-- he's still going to lose. Okay, too abstract? Not a NASCAR fan? Okay-- Michael Jordan could be playing for The Clippers-- he's still going to lose.

So here's the story as I can tell: Raising the debt ceiling is usually a very standard proceedure-- Bush did it 9 times during his administration. The only difference this time is that the teabaggers are in town, and refused to raise the debt limit to try to quell Washington spending. Then, somehow, the budget ended up getting attached to the debt ceiling. Democrats wanted to add "revenue" (or tax hikes on the rich), and Republicans wanted to dismantle "entitlements" (Medicare, Medicade, Social Security, Unemployment). At first no one would budge. Then the Democrats budged. Then they budged some more. Let's be real-- the Democrats gave up the fucking store, and the Republicans did not give in to anything. At one point, there was talk about closing tax loop holes-- what some were calling the "private jet" loop hole. But basically, their "we will not raise taxes on job creators" bullshit won. Leave it to the Republicans to frame a debate to protect the wealthy few over the bulk of the nation.

Now we supposedly have a deal, and it doesn't seem as if anyone is really happy about it. Progressives and liberals hate it. Conservatives and teabaggers hate it. Everyone else seems to be unhappy with the result, but are reluctantly accepting it. That's sad, isn't it? Not that they "have to" accept a bill that they  don't like...but that these idiots are so inept and incompetent that they had to drive this country on the brink of yet another financial disaster because they don't know how to work together. More than that-- these politicians don't serve the American people, they serve the corporations, who are now WORTH MORE THAN THE UNITED STATES TREASURY!

All the while, the same people that were complaining about the lack of jobs in America have been wasting our time on this ridiculous back-and-forth about something as routine as raising the debt ceiling. Meanwhile, people are STRUGGLING-- really struggling. It's horrible when the few people who are actually hiring won't hire someone that's been out of work for an extended period of time-- which is insane to me. These so-called "job creators" that the Republicans are trying to protect are only interested in creating jobs overseas-- and people have to understand that. To rely on the "establishment", as it were, to create the next generation job market is fruitless; the system was not made to accommodate a change in how they do business. And that's the problem-- these people are used to an antiquated business model that is meant to increase profits and exploit the workers.

The time and the energy it took these asshole politicians to mull over this debt crap, they could have come up with a way to get more jobs into the system! But they're not interested in that. The Republicans won a bulk of the mid-term elections last years on "Jobs, Jobs, Jobs". What have they done? Oppose gay marriage, tried to dismantle labor unions, trying to get rid of Medicare/Medicade, and working hard to make sure that President Obama is not elected to another term. This is not what the President wants to be wasting his time on. It must be such a pain-in-the-ass to want to try to do right by the American people, only to have this group of douche-bags CONSTANTLY stone-walling any and every attempt made towards making this country great again.

Republicans don't care about you-- when will you people understand that?! The Democrats are weak and wispy-- and step on any necks to get what they want! Either way, this country is becoming more and more of a laughing stock internationally. We are seen as a bunch of bungling idiots, who's politicians are more concerned with keeping their own jobs than doing right by America. What these politicians need is to LOSE their jobs! But what good would that do? They'd only get hired by the corporations they were trying to protect to begin with.
