"The Undefeated" Movie Trailer

Have you heard anything about this movie called "The Undefeated"? Yeah, neither have I. And after seeing this trailer, I have absolutely no interest. NONE whatsoever.

The film is apparently a love-letter to the phenomena that is Sarah Louise Palin. The clip consists of a lot of stock footage, mixed in with news clips and interviews with "regular people" and what appear to be a few political commentators-- there's a clip with that Andrew Brietbart asshole.

Well, enough of my blathering-- take a look for yourselves:

Sigh.

I can say that this video is a true testament to what Sarah Palin is. This woman is loved and admired by many people-- and that really is nothing to sneeze at. But come on-- if you have to have a bunch of people talking FOR you to justify your worth...that says a lot about how useless you really are. She is an under-educated, barely-articulate, misinformed, half-governor...but really the only celebrity the Republicans have. This film, which opens in "select theaters" (which probably means like 50-100 in the midwest), makes her look like some kind of folk hero that has been maligned by this relentless creature known as "the liberal media"-- which means any outlet other than Fox News (which she is a party of).

Conservatives have made a few attempts at these propaganda films, trying to gain the respectability that people like Al Gore, Michael Moore, Bill Maher, and others have. The problem is that while films like these are edited in the "modern style", and have that (liberal elitist) Hollywood Blockbuster movie trailer look and feel, the subject matter is still...well, garbage. This is a niche film, made for a very small and specific audience: the Sarah Palin-lovers. This has about as much mainstream appeal as a gay-indie film; which means that it has NO mainstream appeal-- no matter what rote and stale editing techniques are used.

So there you have it. Another boring attempt by Conservatives to make a propaganda film. "Boo-hoo-hoo, the liberals mock us! We're not taken seriously! Our values are under attack!" Whine-whine-whine, bitchandmoan-bitchandmoan. When will Conservatives stop playing victims and start making sense?
