Elizabeth Taylor Dies at Age 79

It's been announced this morning that one of the most beautiful and best-known actresses in Hollywood history, Elizabeth Taylor, passed away today.  It's been widely reported that over the last few years she had fallen terribly ill, particularly in February when she was diagnosed with heart failure.

For you young folk that don't know, Taylor was the Angelina Jolie of her day, starring in dozens of films including "National Velvet", "Cleopatra", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof", and won two Oscars for "Butterfield 8" and "Who's Afraid of Virgina Wolff". She even did Maggie Simpson's voice on a couple of episodes of The Simpsons (trivia alert!). She was also a good friend of late singer Michael Jackson, and was married 8 times-- she was the butt of many Hollywood serial-marriage jokes.

She was a beloved Hollywood icon, and will surely be missed.
