Sarah Palin Criticizes Obama White House Christmas Card

I was starting to forget all about Sarah Palin these days. She's managed to keep her nose out of media affairs for the last several weeks, so it's been an absolute pleasure to hear nothing but silence from Planet Wasilla. That silence, however, was short-lived-- 'cause here comes Sarah, with more stupidity-- just in time for the holiday season! Her latest pile of bullshit actually does happen to be holiday-related.

The White House has sent out their holiday card for the season, and Silly Sarah is taking issue with it:

“It’s odd,” she said, wondering why the president’s Christmas card highlights his dog instead of traditions like “family, faith and freedom.”
Horrible, isn't it? Makes you wonder what kind of pagan, satanic garbage the Obama's are passing off as Christmas cards these days. Take a look at THIS insanity!!!

...that's it. Seriously, this is the card that Palin is complaining about.

Palin said the majority of Americans can appreciate the more traditional, “American foundational values illustrated and displayed on Christmas cards and on a Christmas tree.”

As for the Obama card, she replied, “It’s just a different way of thinking coming out of the White House.”

Really, Sarah? Well, let's take a look at some Xmas cards from previous administrations:

This is Geroge W. Bush's card from 2005

This is JFK's from 1962

...and lastly...This is Sarah's boyfriend's card: Ronald Regan, 1984

So once again, ladies and gentlemen, we have the bimbo Palin and the Fox News mental defectives making a conspiracy and controversy out of NOTHING AT ALL. Well, what more can you expect from the news channel for the uneducated.

By the way-- have you seen Fox News' holiday card yet?

Just teeming with "American foundational values", isn't it? Nothing says tradition and class like self-promotion for the holidays!

Happy Holidays Sarah! Maybe Santa can finally bring you a brain! Well, maybe not-- he's not a wizard...!

G.O.P. vs G.A.Y.

When you talk about bigots in politics, some people will get offended when the finger is pointed at Republicans as the number one offender. Well, "some people" meaning Republicans-- they don't like being identified as the party of intolerence. They don't like it, but time and time again they seem to prove that they are. Recently, it's been Rick Santorum in the news for saying stupid, stupid things about how homosexuality will cause the United States to "fall". He says that his issues with the gay community has everything to do with the sex.
"We can flesh out some, well, let's look at what's going to be taught in our schools because now we have same sex couples being the same and their sexual activity being seen as equal and being affirmed by society as heterosexual couples and their activity," he said.

Funny that, as there is really no difference between anal and/or oral sex between straights or gays-- you're either penetrating the anus, or putting your mouth on genitalia. There are straight men that LOVE anal sex-- either giving, or receiving (via fingers and whatnot). Does that make those men gay? Personally, I'm not a fan of anal-- as much as I love a nice ass on a lady...I'm not really moved to wanna stick it in there; I'm a vagina man. The issue of sex in sexuality has way too many nuances to make condemnations about style and imposing them on a particular group of people.

But we are talking about Rick Santorum, here-- the Republican bigot for the ages. You have to give him credit for not being afraid to let his true colors show. He reminds me of how Strom Thurman was comfortable enough to use the word "nigger" in his political speeches. Santorum is at least conscious enough to not use the word "fag" or "queer" or whatever other ugly slurs exist. However, when it comes to the mentality of this man, he's about as ignorant as they come.

And how about Rick Perry! The Texas Turd is back, this time with a 30 second spot to celebrate his anti-gay bigoty:

This is my favorite line in this thing:

"You know there's something wrong when gays can openly serve in the military, but our kids cannot opening celebrate Christmas."

These people using religion to justify their bigotry is shameful. "I believe in God, and God hates fags." That's really what they're saying! Now, of course, none of these people would say that. Their constituents, however, would! I can't tell you how many times I've been around straight people-- not friends or family, but just the dolts out in the world-- that have no problem insulting gays publicly. Again, this is akin to white folks being comfortable enough to say "nigger" in public-- it's the same kind of mindset; that of a witless fuck-tard.

Man oh man. I mean, what can you really say about this stupid shit that hasn't been said already? I think the problem is that whatever we have to say about these assholes, we have to say it LOUDER, and MORE OFTEN. Seriously-- to be THIS OPEN about your prejudices, and STILL be allowed to hold or compete for public office is amazing to me.

Gay bigotry is not held up to the same scrutiny as bigotry based on race or religion. And that makes me wonder...what if we had a war on the religious bigots. Not those phoney media wars, like the so-called "War on Christmas"-- I'm talking an all-out assault on ANYONE using the Bible or some other dogma or fantasy bullshit as a tool to condemn homosexuality.  I, for one, don't want to live in a world where brain-dead Christians and Evangelicals or whatever can push to legislate their hate and ignorance on the American People.

MIchelle Bachmann Dominated by 8 Year-Old

Considering the level of discourse from GOP Presidential Candidates, the headline above should come as no surprise to those of you who follow politics. Every time one of these Republicans opens their mouths, they set our nation back 20-30 years at least. These are people who are not very interested in the lives of real Americans...just the fetishized view of what passes for "normal" for lower-to-middle income white folks.

All joking aside, this clip of Bachmann being confronted by a little boy regarding a hot-button social issue is priceless-- mostly for the look of sheer horror on her face when she leans in to hear what the shy little boy is trying to say to her:

I must say that the ONLY thing that I have issue with in the clip is the fact that kid seems to have been pushed into saying what he said by his mother. I think the mother wanted to get Bachmann in a YouTube moment, and used her child to make that happen. I have to say that I am not a big fan of passive-aggressive behavior-- even in cases when I don't particularly like the target. There is no reason why that woman would not have confronted Bachmann on her own-- but I get it. It's the same kind of thing that a politician would have done to set someone up. But this was a setup. This kid clearly wouldn't know Bachmann from Barney. Aside from that, I can't get over that look on her face when she realized what the kid had said. It's amazing to me that these Republicans bristle and fold under the most honest and sincere of questioning...but we're supposed to believe that they will have the strong stuff that it takes to run this country. Seriously-- if you fall apart when a little kid asks you a question, how are you going to act when Katie Couric or Rachel Maddow asks you a question. Oh yes, that's GOP candidates don't like talking to the media. Only entertainment outlets like Fox News are safe...right?

Interracial Couples Banned...From Church in Kentucky

American society just keeps on churning out the ass-backward morons and bigots! A community church in Pike County, Kentucky-- in an effort to improve their so-called quality of life-- has voted to ban interracial couples from attending their church services. This decision came in the wake of an appearance by a young woman named Stella Harville and her finance Ticha Chikuni, who accompanied Stella on piano as she sang a song during a service. This was the church that Stella was baptized in, the church that she attended as a child. But because she decided to marry an African man, members of the church turned them away.

"It's not the spirit of the community in any way, shape or form," Randy Johnson, president of the Pike County Ministerial Association.

The proposal, drawn up by church members, states that "parties of such marriages will not be received as members, nor will they be used in worship not intended to judge the salvation of anyone, but is intended to promote greater unity among the church body and the community we serve." So basically, with the exception of funerals, interracial couples are not permitted at Gulnare Freewill Baptist Church.

I'm sure there are quite a few of you that are surprised by this. I am not. And I'm willing to bet you that 95% of black folks are not surprised by this either. When you live in a society whose beginnings were focused on making your people 3rd class citizens, no matter how long and how much things have changed...the other shoe will ALWAYS drop.

White folks are presumed racist until proven otherwise. That's a sad thing to say, but it's true. I am the last person that wants to think negatively of others based on race...but I have to tell you, in my experience it's somewhat warranted. Look, I grew up with white folks. Ever since I was 8 years old, I have been either the only, or one of a few, black folks in a sea of white faces. From grade school, to college, to my professional life-- white-white-white-white-white-white-white-white-white. Does that bother me? Not really. If anything bothered me, it was black folks being down on me for either hanging out with white folks-- and this was mostly coming from inner-city black folks that didn't have much experience in dealing with white people other than the filmed footage they would see from the Civil Rights movement in the 50s and 60s.

For the most part, I have not had many negative experiences with white folks when it comes to racism. I think it's save to say that in my lifetime,  I've had issues with 3 out of 10 white folks. I'm talkin' completely unprovoked racist shit-- using the word "nigger" in a negative context, following me in stores, having doors slammed in my face, dirty looks-- mostly passive-aggressive bullshit, but clearly motivated by race. I'm not one of these people that sees racism in a game of pool or somesuch shit. I know it when I see it. And every white face I see, that I don't know, has that question lingering in the back of my mind: "Is this another one of those assholes I have to deal with now?"

Just when you think that it's ONLY gay marriage that we have to deal with anymore. Racist shit in America will NEVER go away. Is it as mainstream as it was even 20 years ago? Nope. Now, MTV has no problem playing videos from black artists (some say that's all they do these days). Now, there is more than one show on television featuring an educated black family (Cosby Show was groundbreaking for its time). And now, interracial couples are on the rise-- it's so common that names like "coal miners" and "jungle fever" are dated and ridiculous.

Face it, folks...we're never gonna get rid of assholes like these church people. They have their own little slice of the world that they can control-- miniscule in the grand scheme of things. If they want to isolate themselves from the rest of the union, let them. All we can do is educate our kids, live our lives, and watch these poor ignorant folks die.

In Defense of Gay Marriage

We live in a day and age when rational thought, emotional intelligence, and good ol' fashion common sense are in rare supply. Our opportunistic and vapid conservative politicians have been actively pushing an anti-gay agenda for a long time now. Each argument for the so-called sanctity of marriage is as inarticulate, careless and stupid as the next. It's amazing to think that in the year 2011 we have to fight for the civil rights of a group of American citizens. Those use religion and phoney social politics to hide their bigotry are a danger to our democracy-- they always have been. The LGBT community is constantly fighting battles JUST to BE. Like with the African American community, these people want nothing but to live their lives. What some would call "special treatment", other would call a Monday, or a wedding, or ANYTHING that's just NORMAL. It's only "special treatment" when the bigots don't get their way.

It is more and more important for Allies and Advocates to step forward to educate, and ultimate to eliminate ignorance around this issue. Take for example Mr. Zach Whals, a 19-year old student from the  University of Iowa. Here he speaks eloquently about his life being raised by two women; his mother, impregnated through artificial insemination, and her partner. The following was taped at a hearing to debate House Joint Resolution 6, which would end civil unions in Iowa:

Despite the effort, the constitution in Iowa was amended to ban same-sex marriage.

Now, I know this video and these events occurred early in the year, but everything that this young man said STILL applies. How is it that we allow bigotry to slant legislation-- in the 21st Century?! Why do we continue to elect religious clowns, bigots, and weak-minded people into public office?

We all need to be more involved in our government. And by "we all" I mean the silent majority of educated, well-rounded people who are choosing to just hide away from the loons instead of beating them into the ground. It is SO EASY to destroy the ignorant-- we just have to motivate ourselves to do so, and do so more often!

1 in 5 Women Choose Facebook Over Sex

In polling 2,000 women,  Cosmo found that 20 percent of women-- or, 1 in 5-- would give up sex for a week if they had to choose between it and using Facebook. These results have been getting a lot of that internet buzz out there on the webs. I have to say, though, that I'm not the least bit surprised.

I think that many people out there find online interacting much more fulfilling than dealing with people in the "real world". And I don't think it's because women don't like sex as much as men-- I think we all like sex equally. But it seems as if this 20% must not be getting all the satisfaction they need from physical boning. Is that our fault, guys? Are we not achieving the highest ranks of great cocksmanship, and forcing women to get pleasure from their laptops and tablets? I mean really, if you're picking a social networking website over MUST BE getting some pretty substandard or god-awful sex.

Hey-- I'm guessing that it's sexual satisfaction. Probably because I'm a guy and that's what I think of immediately when I hear results from a poll like this (I also giggle when I use the word "poll"). Maybe it's a bit deeper than that-- maybe it's because this 20% find it easier to make a connection online, and keep their relationships online as to preserve them and not ruin the illusion by connecting with the ACTUAL person. What could be worse than a shattered illusion?

Also in the poll: 50% would give up sex for their cellphone, 70% would give up sexting, 43% would give up their computer, and 80% would give up their favorite television show. Wow-- look at all the digital technology that women would rather have than sex! Half would rather talk on the phone?! Nearly half would rather use their computer?! Well, I mean-- this is mostly bad news for us heterosexual men (and gay women).

I have to say, if faced with any of these decisions...I would choose sex with my lady EVERY TIME! That's an easy choice to make, aside from the fact that my lady is HOT. I'm a man, for heaven's sake-- when my penis fills with blood (which is often...), I NEED to use it! I can't think of one time in my life when I've given up sex to play video games or use a computer or call people or some shit! Nothing against Steve Jobs (RIP), but the vagina is the TRULY magical thing in the world!

Oh well...gentlemen  (and ladies, maybe?), I think we need to step up our game. Technology is no replacement for a good lay.

Beyoncé's Fake Baby Bump (?)

I don't really follow Beyoncé news-- I mean, other than what has infiltrated the news here and there. I like a couple of her songs, but I don't really know all that much about her. I knew, for example, that she was pregnant. Good for her. But I didn't know that there was this controversy about whether or not she was faking it.

According to People, there is a rumor going around that she is not really pregnant-- that a surrogate is actually carrying her and Jay-Z's child, and that she is wearing a prosthetic baby bump. Some are citing an interview that she did on Australian television. In the clip, the moment when she sits down to do the interview, her belly seems to cave in a bit as she sits down. I thought this was kind-of silly at first-- I mean, why would she go through all this trouble to pretend to be pregnant? There's no way this could be true. Then I saw the video (watch from the 00:57 mark):

Hmmmm. To me, it really does look like she has a fake bump! I mean look at it-- it looks like it bunches up right before she sits, and as she sits it appears to cave in! Could it be an optical illusion from the dress? I dunno-- I mean, it's not skin tight...but it's not loose either. The only way one could truly tell if it's fake or not is to touch it. THAT'S why I'm not too sold on these rumors. I mean come on-- this woman is way too high profile to pull off a fake stunt like this. Even if there was a surrogate, I don't think that she would risk making appearances with a prosthetic.

I think in a world where celebrities pull crazy stunts to hide things like their addictions or sexuality, there are folks out there looking to start a commotion where there is none. If it is true, it's extremely silly. But I doubt that it is.

BTW-- here are some pics of her from maybe a month or so ago, with her belly exposed:

Not the most pregnant-looking woman I've seen but...I guess she is. Right?

But what do I know? Like I said, I don't follow these things too closely. But Wendy Williams and her audience...they do:

Steve Jobs, Dead at Age 56

Apple co-founder and visionary Steve Jobs has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, and has passed away at the age of 56. No matter what you knew about how sick he was, news of his death-- a mere weeks after handing Apple over to Tim Cook, and the day after the latest iPhone was announced-- it's still a bit of a shock knowing that he is gone.

I have been buying Apple products over the last 14 years-- starting with a G3 tower that I bought for graphic design and video editing (I used Final Cut Pro v. 2 back then). This man has been a very significant icon of my professional and personal life, as not as day has gone by in over a decade that I have not used an Apple device or product of some sort. Now that he's gone, what could that possibly mean to the brand that he helped to create, and later rejuvenate.

Without Jobs, it's kind of hard to say what the future might look like-- especially since it's been Apple that has set many of the tech trends that we have in our lives. It's a voice that will truly be missed.

Hank Williams, Jr.: Are You Ready For This Asshole?

I don't think very much of Hank Williams, Jr. I mean, he's recorded a couple of decent country tunes, he's the guy that's been singing the Monday Night Football theme for as long as I can remember. That's about it-- I didn't really have a strong opinion about him either way. I have to say that even in the midst of the latest news media controversy about Williams, I still really don't have a strong opinion about him. It's just that now, he sounds like a hypocritical asshole.

Williams has been under attack for the last few days after he called President Obama a Nazi on Fox and Friends:

Now, I'm about as upset with these remarks as I am by any made by an inarticulate, shit-kicking moron. This is a guy who is clearly not a supporter of Obama's presidency-- fair enough. But when douchebags like this and Ann Coulter throw the word "Nazi" around like it's their mother's's hard to take them seriously. Hell, as a Jew that lived in Europe in the 1940s if Obama or the Wall Street protestors remind them of Nazi's, you know what they're gonna say? "Shut the fuck up."

Sure, anyone using the "Nazi" analogy is being hyperbolic (hey Hank, spell that!). But it's just so tired and totally inaccurate to compare anyone to a Nazi that hasn't committed mass murder by the millions. And as much as inbred hicks like Williams, or skanky, ignorant trash like Coulter like to speak in those terms...their use of this comparison mostly just speaks of their lack of originality and the shallow nature of their thinking.

Of course, it took Williams a couple of days to get what he would consider an apology to come out right. His first attempt was clearly the work of a publicist:

"Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme - but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me - how ludicrous that pairing was....They're polar opposites and it made no sense. They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the President."
Definitely more articulate, and clearly half-hearted. And ineffective, because most people didn't really buy it. So then, the man himself released his own statement:

"I have always been very passionate about Politics and Sports and this time it got the Best or Worst of me. The thought of the Leaders of both Parties Jukin and High Fiven on a Golf course, while so many Families are Struggling to get by simply made me Boil over and make a Dumb statement and I am very Sorry if it Offended anyone. I would like to Thank all my supporters. This was Not written by some Publicist."

Now that's more like it-- sloppy, rambling, borderline illiterate...written like a true, dumb good-ol boy. I love "High Fiven"-- that's my favorite (or should I say "fayvoret").

He must have been furious when George W. Bush was constantly compared to a Nazi by the Liberals-- equally as stupid as calling Obama one. But you know that Williams must have been livid-- calling people traitors and shit for not respecting the President. It's typical, though, of assholes like this, and the teabaggers as well, to let fly on Obama without the least bit of respect for him OR his presidency...BUT DON'T TALK ABOUT THEIR PRESIDENT! And we'll see how they react when someone calls the next Republican president (2016) a "Nazi" or "Communist" or whatever stupid shit they'll come up with.

At the end of the day, it's ONLY Hank Williams, Jr. It's not like anyone respects this man for his intellect. Maybe he should keep his trap shut, unless there's a guitar playing along.

"...I am your father."

Man, I remember the night that my parents took me and my brother to see The Empire Strikes Back. I know I was INSANE with excitement! We had seen Star Wars three years earlier at a drive-in movie theater, and it was damn-near a religious experience. I was only five at the time, and I remember it vividly-- although I had no idea at the time that it was such a ground-breaking film. But no matter how awe-inspiring A New Hope was, nothing could prepare us for what The Empire Strikes Back would reveal.

The movie itself is pretty amazing-- quite possibly the best film of the entire series. It's the point in the first trilogy when everything falls apart. And it's the moment when Luke first faces Darth Vader. It's a harrowing moment, when Vader chops off Luke's hand, and corners him. Then it happens. I remember a pronounced collective gasp-- EVERY person in that movie theater was shocked. It was a big deal, after all-- NO ONE saw it coming! It's a moment that I hope to relive with my kids, in the same way that YouTube user "bashthemonkey" was able to capture, when he video'd his kids at that key moment.

This is quite possibly one of the best clips I've seen in a long time!

R.E.M. Calls It Quits

"A wise man once said--'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave.' We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it. " -- Michael Stipe

Holy crap-- talk about the end of an era, man...! After 31 years, R.E.M. is splitting up. It's official. When bands you grew up with start break up, you're fucking old. Don't get any ideas, They Might Be Giants...!!!!

Well, to be honest, I haven't really listened to these guys since Monster. But I did see them perform at Live 8, and they were great-- they always were. Now it's all over, and they leave behind a catalogue of really great songs. Since I'm such a nice guy, I've made a compilation of my favorite R.E.M. songs, that you listen to via Spotify. Just click that button on the right if you have it. Hearing their songs is like Flash Back City, let me tell you.

They made some good videos, too. I think that next to "Losing My Religion", my favorite video of theirs is "Immitation of Life":

We'll always have this good stuff to remember them by.

Facebook Changes, World Implodes.

Facebooked - (face' booked) v. -- abrupt and unpopular change.

I guess you all know by now, huh? If you're a Facebook user, it's in damn near every status update you see, from EVERYONE you know. Maybe you wanted to make a status update of your own, asking your Facebook people to chill out on this damn Facebook complains...but you couldn't find the status update bar. It takes you about 30-40 seconds to find the damn thing...and THAT'S when you empathize with the 200+ messages saying the same damn thing over, and over again.  You think this is bad-- wait until November 2012.

I'm surprised people are complaining this much-- Facebook always does this shit. You're using it for months, and the next thing you day, there's been a drastic change in the layout and interface. There were times I've seen people post complaints about a change, and I won't know what they're talking about. It's weird-- some people may get changes, while others do not. Never quite figured out why that is. I just wish they handled this stuff better, with just a weeeeeeeeeeeee bit of communication. I mean look-- I like a good surprise, but there's not need for it when you're dealing with apps. Well, at least they give you a little window to explain why things are different. That's nice of them, I guess...

It's a bold, new world. Again. Surprise.

"My EBT": Or, THIS is Why I Should Probably Be a Republican

"...There's a civil war going on with black people right now-- and there's two sides:
there's black people, and there's niggers...and niggers have GOT TO GO!" -- Chris Rock

I lived in BedStuy, Brooklyn a few years ago-- this was at the very beginnings of the gentrification of that area. I found a cheap and adequate 2-bedroom apartment for a fraction of the cost of what I would find in Manhattan-- and it was only about 20-30 minutes away! Even though the rent was cheaper, it was still considerably expensive. I was one of the few people that I knew that had their own apartment-- many of my friends had roommates or spouses or whatever; I make a decent enough salary that I could afford to live by myself. However, I didn't have the kind of money that I could just throw around. At that point, I was still watching the same television set that I had owned for nearly 10 years (the Sony Wega-- a great, and heavy, TV). On my walk to the subway station, I would have to pass by some Section 8 housing. On trash days, I would see boxes for 36" and 42" flat screen LCD televisions, and XBoxes and Playstations 3's, and stereos-- the kind of shit that I could not REALLY afford. I would always wonder-- how the FUCK can people on welfare afford to have shit that my middle class-ass could not?!?!

This is how fucked up our system is. It doesn't pay to be "middle class". You have to be either rich or poor to get by unscathed in America these days. If you're rich, you get outstanding tax cuts. If you're poor, you get entitlements. When you're middle get FUCKED. That's why I don't understand all this talk about class warfare that's dominating the current media cycle. Republicans want to coddle and protect the rich and the wealthy. Period Democrats want to be sure that the lower class and the poor get all the breaks they need to live.  PERIOD. What do we get?!

A friend of mine sent me the following video, and it absolutely made my blood boil:

FUCK this asshole, and everyone that looks and sounds like him. Nothing angers me more than ignorant, irresponsible black folks niggers gettin' by. I HATE IT. It makes me furious to see shit like this-- after EVERYTHING that our parent's generation tried to accomplish during the 50s and the 60s, to have all of that shit on by this generation of lazy, complacent, self-entitled fuck-tards...I swear, I wanted to punch a hole in this goddamned monitor while I was watching that...FUCKING stupid video.

Let me explain something here. There are PLENTY of intelligent, serious, hard-working black folks out there that look at niggers like this and get as angry as I am right now. It's disgraceful and embarrassing, and fills me with NOTHING but shame. I will say that the one thing that I was hopeful about with Barack Obama was that people like this would get inspired enough to want to try to do something with their lives-- to lift themselves up from their self-imposed racial prisons and move themselves towards progress. I was a fool. And I mock people that expected Obama to be some kind of messiah. Not that I was expecting Obama to do something specifically about this-- he's the President of the United States, not the President of Black People. When I hear black politicians complaining about the state of black unemployment, and in part blaming Obama for not doing enough, I call absolute bullshit! Yes, our nation's unemployment is bad. Yes, there is a higher concentration of black and Hispanic unemployment. But I've got news for's not racially-motivated.

Just look at that fucking video. This guy is PLEASED to be sucking from the public tit. And it's not just him-- I'm not only busting his balls, to be sure. Again, when I lived in Brooklyn, I saw assholes like this more often that I would like to admit. These same assholes would also bitch and moan about how the "white man" is keeping them from accomplishing more with their lives. BULL. SHIT. The white man is not giving you weed and 40s. The white man is not forcing you to buy shit food. The white man is not keeping your lazy, ignorant ass from getting an education, so that you could get a decent job! You are where you are because you want to be...and you ENJOY IT!

This is the one place where I can find agreement with Republicans. What would happen to these people if these entitlements disappeared? What do you think they would be singing about then?! Why are we allowing this to happen, while decent people are out there BUSTING THEIR ASSES to barely make ends meet?! Why should I care about these people losing their meal ticket? I'll tell you this...I DON'T!

You see, this is why people like this will never be uplifted. They eat shitty food. They drink and smoke weed. They stand around on street corners or sit in their apartments watching cable and playing video games for all hours of the day. And meanwhile, their food is paid for...their rent is substantially cheap...and they get an unemployment check every week. For example-- I've seen people pay $300/month for a 2-bedroom apartment. I've paid 4 times that amount. That is some depressing, aggravating shit!

Look, these entitlement programs could be useful...for a LIMITED TIME. If you've lost your job, and are having a hard time finding new employment, and you need some time to get training to find new work...yes, these programs will help. It's the people that use these things as a LIFESTYLE...those are the people that aren't worth a bucket of piss. These are the people that need to have all of that shit yanked away from them. It's not everyone...but it's enough. This is something that politicians SHOULD fix!

Tax cut and entitlement loopholes-- THOSE TWO THINGS SHOULD BE ON THE TABLE. These are things that both Democrats and Republicans should be working out. Americans need to get off the hamster wheel and clean up this system! But you know what? They won't. Democrats and Republicans care more about their bases than they do for the people that need the most attention: THE ONES DOING ALL THE WORK!!!!

I will always support the middle class-- we are, and have always been, the backbone of the American economy. At this point, however...being a listless, no-good nigger on welfare pays more (and that's both black and white niggers, folks).

So...I guess that means I have to get rich. Or die trying.

Netflix introduces Qwikster

UPDATE: Netflix decided to nix this "Qwikster" idea. I think they should probably avoid making anymore announcements now...

A couple of months ago, Netflix announced that in addition to splitting up their DVD rental and streaming video services, that they would also be raising their rates-- in some cases from $5.00 to about $15.00 per month. This has angered and frustrated many Netflix subscribers to the point where many of them have decided to cancel their subscription to the service. Except myself, that is. My increase was about $5.00 to get both DVDs and streaming, so it wasn't that much of a blow for me. I mean really, name any other movie service that offers the quantity that Netflix has-- both with DVDs and streaming combined, you practically have access to everything available on DVD and Blu-ray. But that's not good enough for certain people, who are now turning to services like Hulu and Amazon and iTunes. Fair enough. Believe me, those people will be back-- ESPECIALLY when they realize what they're missing. If you're a movie nerd, you will stick with Netflix. If you are only interested in seeing new movies and television shows...have fun with Hulu (remember when they were free?).

Today, I got an email from Reed Hastings, Co-Founder of Netflix. Well, it wasn't just for me, it was sent to all Netflix subscribers. He explained in the email that he had "messed up." He acknowledged the much criticized announcement of the rate increase, and sought to appease those who had felt screwed over and disrespected. Basically, he said that Netflix has grown quite a bit over the years, and to accommodate that grown, certain changes needed to be instated. With that, the decision was made to split the streaming and DVD rental services into two separate entities. Netflix would house the streaming end of things, and the newly-announced "Qwikster" (dumb name) will handle physical DVD and Blu-ray disc rentals. In addition, he announced that Qwikster would also introduce a video game rental service (watch you ass, Game Fly).

Regardless of the speculation and other bad news-- the loss of Starz and Encore content starting next year-- I don't think Netflix (and Qwikster) are going anywhere. I think the people who felt scorned will be back. I have been using Netflix for MANY years, and I have no intention of giving it up. For a film geek like me, there is simply no other solution. They are the reason that, other than HBO (mostly for their original programming and boxing), I have no other premium channels. Who needs them, when you have access to everything!

F.U. DSK: Douchebag Rationalizes Lewd and Rapey Behavior

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, International Piece of Shit, recently gave an interview on French television where he tried to justify his most recent rape allegations from a maid in a New York City hotel. For those of you who have no idea who this asshole is, he is a well-known narcissist, economist, lawyer, and member of the French Socialist party. Several months ago he was accused of sexually assaulting Nafissatou Diallo, an African-born maid at the Sofitael hotel. Basically, she entered the room to clean it, and Dumb-inique Shit-Cunt tried to rape her. He spent a lot of money to get cleared of prosecution, and is now free to walk the streets and rape again. The worst part is that this poor woman is not the only one. A French writer also claims to have been assaulted in 2003 by this bastard. Some people who know him have claimed that he has quite an affinity for sex and women, especially with those two things combined-- "surprise sex" as Louis C.K. has said in his standup.

I have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to rape and violence towards women. I believe that if a man rapes a woman, or even attempts to rape a woman, he needs to have his dick chopped off. Period. You rape a woman, you lose your cock-- plain and simple. Owning a dick is a privilege, NOT a right. And if you abuse it, you lose it. I guarantee you-- if the mandatory punishment for sexual assault against a woman is castration and cock-stration (penectomy)...we wouldn't be having this conversation.

One of the many things that is pissing me off about this loser is his remarks, four months after being acquitted of attempted rape and violence, which he describes as a "moral failing". A "moral failing"?! You're a "male failing". You're a "human failing". I think women should line up for blocks wearing 6 inch heels, with your arms and legs bound by posts and your penis and balls exposed, so that they can stomp you shit into mush.

It is said that Miss Diallo's case was flimsy, that her lawyer said that her story was constantly changing. Strauss-Kahn seems to believe that she was just trying to extract money from him. I am not saying that there are some women out there that have cried "rape" when it was not true-- it has happened. At the same time, as I mentioned before, this guy has a pattern of bad behavior with women. So could either of these people be lying? Could both of them be lying? Yup. In this case, however, I will side with Miss Diallo. When you have a reputation for mistreating women, as far as I am are trash.

So now, I think people will have their eyes on this guy FOR SURE. This is his last chance to walk away from rape and sexual assault allegations scott-free.  We will see if he can keep his hands to himself, and his dick in his pants. Because if he can't, and he fucks up again...he's going to jail. And maybe, just maybe, he'll finally understand what it's like to be raped.

GOP Candidates Debate: 09/07/2011

Last night's GOP Candidate debate on MSNBC is the first one I've seen so far in this 2012 election cycle. It was everything I thought it would be; lots of Obamacare, Obama-conomy, and Rick Perry bashing. Perry is the flavor-of-the-month in this field of GOP hopefuls, after Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Michele Bachmann. After his performance last night, I think everyone will want to switch back to Romney.

Of this very weak field, Mitt Romney was the only one who came out looking the most presidential. The likes of Rick Santorum, Gingrich, Herman Cain and Jon Huntsman tried very hard to push themselves into some kind of relevance-- especially Gingrich, who's stand-out moment of the evening was lambasting the moderators for pitting the Republican candidates against each other instead of Barack Obama-- which he claims is a result of the media trying to protect Obama. Bullshit, of course-- especially if you've seen the news lately. Which media outlet is trying to protect the president? Even MSNBC commentators like Lawrence O'Donnell and Rachel Maddow have questioned many of Obama's moves, particularly in the last 6-8 months.

I'd say that Ron Paul probably had the most intelligent and thoughtful answers to offer-- not that it matters, because that man will NEVER have a chance to be president, no matter how smart he sounds in the middle of a group of right wing-pandering narcissists. In sharp contrast, I think the most brain-dead comments came from the man who is currently the front-runner: Rick Perry. The man stood up on that stage and openly slighted climate change science. He also had no problem stating that he felt that Social Security was a "Ponzi scheme"-- a sentiment not shared by the other GOP candidates...or about 90% of the people receiving Social Security.  Then there was the moment when Brian Williams asked him about the 260+ executions under Perry's watch-- which got a round of applause from the audience(!). When he was asked how he feels about that number, and the fact that people applauded it...he had no problem with it. In fact, he was proud.

Poor Michele Bachmann. It seems as if her 15 minutes are almost up. She had no real moment to speak of-- other than being confronted by her pledge to bring gasoline back down to $2.00/gal. She has this singular logic that Rick Perry has. I mean really, the very idea that the President of the United States has any control whatsoever over gas prices?! And when she said that gas was $1.79/gal before Barack Obama became president...yeah, about 15 years before Obama became president! It's just downhill from hear for Bachmann, which means that the teabaggers are going to have to settle for Mitt Romney, who is trying his hardest to gain their support.

At this point, it's a two-man race. Scratch that-- Mitt Romney will be the GOPs Presidential Candidate for 2012. I mean really-- there really is no need for more debates with this field of nightmares. I really don't have the patience or brain cell surplus to listen to Hermain Cain's 9-9-9 bullshit (upside down, it makes more sense). Rick Santorum is better defined by Dan Savage. Newt Gingrich-- why are you even there?! Jon Huntsman, while he may be the more logical of this lot, has no chance. So unless Chris Christie, Jeb Bush or Saint Sarah of Wasilla decide that they are ready, Mitt Romney is your man, Republicans!

Good luck with all of that...

"Underground Garage", the Russian Kids Club

The internets are all a-flutter over images from a night club called "Underground Garage" somewhere in Russia. The hook:  it's an all-kids night club.

How about that, huh? How disturbing! How horrible it is that there are kids partying in a night club at ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT! Except, well...I have some suspicions about the validity of this so-called  "nightclub for kids". Nothing major, I mean...well, first off, the photos look staged. They look lit, the kids look made up and photoshopped. Seriously, if this was a club where deboucherous kids were gettin' hog-wild, I don't think these photographs would look this stable and well-lit. On top of that, I looked up the club on YouTube to find any videos of these kids in action:

Don't look like little kids to me. My guess...these photos are some kind of viral campaign for either the club itself, or for the site that these photos belong to, Geometria. In any case, regardless of all the outrage that these images have conjured up, the only thing that I can think of is that "Forever Your Girl" video:

Steve Jobs(less)

"I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come."

This is truly the end of an era. The resignation of Steve Jobs as the CEO of Apple shouldn't really be a surprise to anyone. The man's been sick for several years and took two medical leaves, so you would think that it was a matter of time before Mr. Jobs had to let his duties at Apple go. He must be extremely ill to release the reigns of the company that he built, was fired from, then rehired and reinvigorated the company after his predecessors almost destroyed it. It's difficult to imagine what turn Apple will take now that it's out of his hands. Well, not entirely-- Jobs will still on the board of directors. The ball is in Tim Cook's hands now.

I wonder if Jobs has spent the last several months, or several years, doing an ultimate brain-dump of all of his ideas. I mean, that IS the key to Apple's success-- Jobs is very hands-on, and has left his signature on every product the company has produced-- all the "i" stuff is his; the iPod,the iPhone, the iPad-- the revolutionary tools that have altered the way we interact with our media. When the Jobs well runs dry, what direction will Apple move in? It's failed without him before-- will it fail without him again? I can imagine that Mr. Cook has worked very closely with Jobs. But I'm sure there will be a time when the company will have to rely on Cook's vision. Is his view that similar to Jobs, so it would be as if no change had occurred?

Do you think we'll still be listening to iPods or using MacBooks, or iPads in the future? Maybe in 5-10 years, Apple's products/personality will be completely and totally different from what it is now. And that will either be a good thing, or a disaster.

Will and Jada splitting up?

Could it be true? Is this really happening? It is...according to the tabloid and news sites.

The word is that these two have been unhappy for quite some time, and a divorce is said to be imminent. One of the latest rumors is that Will Smith left one of his movie sets early to surprise Jada, and found her in their home with recently-divorced Marc Anthony. Allegedly, upon seeing the two of them together, Will left the house crying. The Smith/Pinkett camp denies this, saying that Marc Anthony was at the house, but back in April, and only to watch a DVD. There are other rumors out there, specifically citing their alleged other words, both of them are gay and have other relationships. All involved directly with the two say that none of these rumors are true.

In spite of all of this news, Will and Jada claim that their marriage is still intact:

"Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact."

There you go. So is this just bullshit? Will we be hearing about a split a couple of weeks from now? Who the hell knows. It's like the Brad/Angelina stuff-- every time someone says they're splitting up, they do not. There is such a sick and stupid obsession with seeing celebrity relationships fall apart. Media folks so gleefully report these things-- it's fucking obnoxious.

Seeing people like this break up would be sad-- as sad as many relationship splits. Look, if they are having a shitty time together, then they should split up. If they are fine, then leave them alone.

Earthquake 2011: The East Coast

Wow, talk about creepy, man... So I was sitting in my office, finishing up a project I was working on and getting ready to go out for lunch. Suddenly, I felt this odd sensation. At first I thought it was the way my chair had moved, but it wasn't just the was all around me. Not hard, not severe, but enough to be very noticable. I thought that maybe it was just me, until I saw nearly everyone in my office stand up, with wide eyes and confusion on their faces. "What was that?" someone asked. "Was that an earthquake?" someone else asked. Then 3/4 of the office fled. The rest of us looked out the windows (we're on the 10th floor) wondering what the hell that was-- was in construction, or a small explosion?. Then the Fire Chief's voice boomed over the loudspeaker: "Please evacuate the building". So we did.

From what I've gathered so far, this was a 5.9 earthquake originating about 30 miles outside of Richmond, VA. That's pretty amazing, that we were able to feel that from all the way in New York City! My mom, who lives in South Jersey, felt the house shake. And there are folks that felt it as far north as Connecticut. In addition, the White House, Pentagon, and Capital Building were evacuated as well. So I guess this is what happens when you elect a black president that allows gays to marry and provides health care for all Americans. Stay tuned to see how the Republicans spin THIS one.

You know what's wild-- the NY Daily News had an article about whether or not an earthquake could hit New York City, which was published five months ago! At this point, no one knows how it happened or why. Well, maybe they do-- but I haven't heard anything about it yet, and can't really write about it. I can say that for a split second I had a 9/11 flash back, which was a bit horrifying. Even my cellphone wouldn't work, which also happened on 9/11. After feeling that initial shake, I waited for something horrible to happen. But it didn't.

Well, I think the worse thing that happened was that we had to go back into the building when everything was cleared. I wanted to go to a bar! Oh well...maybe the next "disaster"....

Republican Congressman is the NEW Harriet Tubman

Politicians never seem to run out of stupid things to say. Case in point, Republican Congressman from Florida Allen West. This fellow recently made a statement that was not only moronic, but SO GODDAMNED hypocritical that it makes the head spin, then pop off, and fall into the toilet.

Now, there are not that many blacks in the Republican party. To wit, they are often maligned by other blacks as being akin to an Uncle Tom; how could they embrace and be a part of a party whose members have proven to be anything but inclusive of blacks. These are a small number of people that have strong political differences from the Democratic party. These are people that may consider themselves to be Conservatives-- both fiscally and socially. Like any Conservative, one of their many issues are with Liberal programs, or "entitlements", that they feel coddle and pamper the poor and the other words, things like welfare and unemployment insurance make people lazy. I don't know about you, but I've had to collect unemployment checks...and NOTHING is more of a motivator than busting your ass to earn a REAL salary!

Many Republicans feel that when it comes to the "Black Vote" (coveted by some, scoffed at and ignored by others), they say that Democrats have taken black folks for granted. In other words, the reason why black folks want nothing to do with Republicans is because they will always automatically vote for Democrats. There is a frustration with some black Republicans in getting more of "their people" on what they feel is the right side (literally). Especially now, with a black Democratic president, their is a perception that blacks will NEVER turn to the Republican party. But now, with Black unemployment higher than it's ever been, many Republicans (black AND white) are starting to ask black folks: How well off were you BEFORE Barack Obama?

This is the issue at hand here-- the recession in America has hit no other group as hard as blacks. While the unemployment rate for the nation is at about 9.1%, for blacks it's more like 15%. Now, there were hopes (and fears) that once a black president was elected, that blacks would just take over EVERYTHING. You heard white folks fearing their jobs, homes, livelihood would be overtaken and overrun by black folks. At the same time, you had black folks convinced that they would be living on Easy Street, now that there was a black president. Both of these groups were wrong, then AND now, and for the remainder of Obama's time in office (yes, he WILL get re-elected).

When you look at the circumstances effecting this country, you start to see a pattern. That pattern transcends race; it just happens to effect it ONLY by proxy, in regards to our history. Blacks in America were at one point the slave class. At the end of the slave era, there was a surge to in the black community to better themselves-- they built schools and churches, got involved in government, built homes and town halls-- blacks were on the way to growing into a substantial and respectable group. That is, until the Confederates were pardoned and allowed to extract their revenge on what free blacks had created. Everything that blacks had built was destroyed. Any man, or woman, who worked at making a difference was killed. Blacks were shunned, beaten, demoralized, excluded from nearly EVERY ASPECT of American life. And because the law would do NOTHING to stop these things from happening, from there grew a complacency built from fear, terror, and disregard. These days, the fear and terror are no longer there...but the complacency is so imbedded in the community that it will take severe measures to rectify it.

Education; the link to solving ALL problems that plague our people. That is what is not only missing from our country, but is DESPERATELY lacking in the black community. The same type of education that, in the pre-Emancipation era would have gotten one killed, is what will empower and elevate a group-- ANY group. America is in a very anti-science/anti-intellectual mindset at the moment. Black folks are going to be effected by this the most. It is because of the lack of education in America that we are getting slaughtered in the global market. Kids in China and India are outpacing kids in America by numbers that are nothing but embarrassing. A lack of education has crippled our economy and is contributing to the high unemployment rate. These are problems that have been mounting and growing for well over a decade...but of course, it's all Obama's fault. And not just him-- when it comes to the failures and disappointments in the black community, it's also the fault black leadership...and according to Allen West, Democratic Representative Maxine Waters is a big part of that problem.

Maxine Waters made  headlines last week while speaking to folks at a jobs fair in Atlanta by begging President Obama to pay more attention to the problems in the black community. She says that many blacks are disappointed by Obama, because they feel that he is not doing enough for blacks. Personally, I think this is bullshit-- I mean, if Hillary Clinton had won the White House, or John McCain...the black community would STILL be is despair. It has NOTHING TO DO with Obama's lack of willingness to help blacks...the problem is that many blacks REFUSE TO HELP THEMSELVES! I am sick and tired of hearing black folks complain about how they don't have this or that, or how whites are still holding them back-- typical bullshit. When I look at my family, and black friends...I don't see people that are suffering! I see people that are hard working, who never had to play the victim role to get what they wanted. There are plenty of black folks out there that bust their ass, get an education, and work HARD. So when I hear these other blacks bitch, it makes me sick. Stop being a fucking victim and DO SOMETHING with yourself! But I digress...
After Rep. Waters made these statements, Allen West appeared on the O'Reilly Factor, and was asked about what he feels about this issue:

If this guy is Harriet Tubman, I'm W.E.B. DuBois. So, he is the savior that will help lead black folks out of the clutches of the evil, enabling Democrats, huh? Well, that's a very noble cause, and very big of him to get involved. Well, it WOULD be...but, you see-- the thing is that Rep. West has a brother (not "brotha", but an actual sibling), who has been out of work for a long time. Arlan West (wow-- those are some uncreative parents right there) went to his brother to ask him what he should do about finding a job. Do you know what Allen West, the Republican "Harriet Tubman" fighting against the Democratic overseers, told his brother to do? Go to the job's fair in Atlanta, and find Maxine Waters to ask her for help.

This motherfucker-- this hypocritical, arrogant, obnoxious, do-nothing shit-bird tells his brother to go to a Democrat for help!!!!! Can you fucking believe that-- after all the talk about how Democrats don't do shit for people, specifically black folks, and pointing out how Maxine Waters herself does NOTHING to really help the black community...he has the BALLS to send his brother to her.

Can you believe that?! I mean, this is somewhat stunning to me-- how the hell do you talk that much shit about someone, and then use them to try to help your family?! Allen West is either the dumbest motherfucker out there, OR he's just an asshole politician playing the game. Either way, what does this bullshit do to serve our country, or the people in it? This is just a fucking game to most of the people in Washington. And it doesn't look like any of this is going to stop any time soon.

So Allen-- or, should I say "Harriet"-- how's it feel to surrender your kin to the overseer on the plantation? That is TRULY some Uncle Tom bullshit right there....

Bert and Ernie: Gay Rights Icons?

For as long as I can remember, there has been a running joke about the homosexual relationship between the Sesame Street characters Bert and Ernie. And it was pretty much accepted as that: a JOKE. No one that I knew really believed that the two of them were gay. Well, apparently, there are some grown people that not only believe that they are gay, but have been actively petitioning The Sesame Street Workshop to have Bert and Ernie get married.  This bullshit has been brought to you by the letters F and U.

Come on, people-- really? Why the hell would you want to sexualize a relationship on a children's television show? And don't give me that "homophobe" bullshit-- implying that Bert and Ernie are gay introduces sex into their relationship! PERIOD! You have taken a platonic friendship and added sex to it-- it's as simple as that. Nothing in their relationship (and I have always been a fan) implies that they are romantic with each other, or fucking in any way, shape, or form! In other words...THEY ARE NOT GAY!

This would be almost as dumb as petitioning Hanna-Barbera to own up to the fact that Shaggy and Scooby are stoners and should support NORML.

The Sesame Street Workshop made the following statement regarding the matter:

Bert and Ernie are best friends. They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves. Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets™ do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation.

So there you have it! Can we please drop this silliness now, please?

Successful Black Man Meme

It is rare that I break into uncontrollable laughter for minutes at a time. RARE. A friend of mine sent me a link to the Successful Black Man meme, and well sir...I laughed my ASS off. Basically, you load up the site and you get a bunch of squares like the one above. The top bit of copy is something "black"-- you know, somethin' some brotha on da block would say. The copy of the bottom clarifies that this is not merely some "brotha talk", but the musings of a well-educated, successful black fellow. Here are a few that had me "rotf/lmao"...

This is some right stupid shit-- stupid FUNNY!

The People V. Mitt Romney

I love a good populous uprising! Especially when it's targeted towards someone who claims to be a man of the people. When it comes to that claim, no man is more full of shit that Mitt Romney, billionaire Republican presidential hopeful.

Here we have a clip from the Iowa State Fair on August 11th, 2011. Mitt gets into a bit of a shouting match with two members of the crowd; one asks a question about raising taxes on the rich, the other defending Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid.

Poor, misunderstood Mitt, huh? Getting attacked and being maligned just because he's all successful and rich. I love the line about how never, in his memory, as anybody been attacked for being successful. That's because, Mitt, that the rich are paying fewer taxes than they EVER have in this country's history. These days, it's hard to understand why the rich and the wealthy get off easier, pay fewer (or no) taxes, when the people that work for them end up paying MORE.

How about that answer for the fellow asking about Medicare/Medicaid. He does that filibuster thing that people do when they don't have an answer--  you know, the "Can I finish? Will you let me finish? Can I talk now?" It's one of the oldest stalling tactics in the book. Then how does he answer the question: "I won't raise taxes!" I can't believe that this is another asshole who says things like "I won't raise taxes on the American people!" At the very least, Republicans in the House and Senate have changed that talking point to "I won't raise taxes on job creators". The fact that Mitt Romney is out of touch is nothing new, though.

This is something else that he said at the same gathering:

"Corporations are people, too." Seriously, Mitt? I mean, you've gotta hand it to him-- he's doing the work of showing the Republican Party's true colors that the nearly every other Republican is trying to hide: the fact that the ONLY people they care about are the rich and wealthy. I can truly appreciate how candid Romney is. I don't see how this talk is going to put him in that front runner status that everyone is talking about.

These days the rich and the wealthy are being maligned because many of them (not all) are taking advantage of this country, and for all the wrong reasons. They take, take, take, and give nothing in return. They don't give back to the country that gave them their wealth. Honestly, I believe it's because they see the writing on the wall in regards to the future of that America has no future. Not a profitable one, anyway. It's as if they want to get all that they can before the bottom falls out. They have given up on this country. If that's not the case, and if all of this is merely for political reasons...such as waiting around for Obama's health care and tax policies...then that may be even worse. If these people are willing to let this country fall apart so that they can either destroy Obama and/or get their own people in charge...then maybe...just maybe...we need a little bit of London in our lives.

Maurice Johnson: Three College Degrees, Homeless

I don't know whether to be sad or angry about this story.

The following is a video posted by a YouTube user named "60Days60Nights" (an interesting fellow himself). The video was made the day before the world was supposedly going to end (May 20th, 2011). This is an interview with a 55 year-old man named Maurice Johnson. This is a man who gave up everything he owned to take care of his mother, who had alzhiemers and was about to lose her house. He is a man with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Plasma Physics-- a graduate from Dartmouth and Purdue. Not only is he unable to get a job (and has been screwed out of a couple of them), he is LIVING ON THE STREETS of Boston.

Listen to his story:

Can you believe this shit? A shitty health care system, a horrible economy, and an even worse support system for the homeless. This man is a smart as they come-- smarter than most, with degrees in the sciences and a background in mathematics and a teacher to boot! LIVING ON THE STREETS!

When we have some of the best and brightest minds in the country living homeless on the streets, with little or no prospects...what the hell does that say about the United States of America? We should all be embarrassed about this. There is not an excuse in world as to why this is happening. Plenty of reasons, but no excuse.

This is just one man. Imagine how many stories of lives like this are existing all over our country.  Towns and cities are being decimated. Employers are begging for workers, but refuse to pay what they are worth. It's getting harder and harder to merely LIVE a life-- to pay rent/mortgage, bills, car payments (IF you're lucky enough to have a car!), not to mention things like FOOD.

I can truly say that we are NOT living in the greatest nation in the world. If we were a great nation, none of this would be happening. We would be educating our people. We would be providing proper healthcare for those who cannot afford it. Our so-called "job creators" that the Republicans like to protect would actually be CREATING JOBS. By the way, if you are a "job creator" and you are creating jobs over seas instead of in're a traitor to your nation. Plain and simple.

What are we going to do, people? Honestly, probably nothing. People who are lucky enough to have jobs, and homes, and cars, and can feed their family, and can go to the movies and rent DVDs and download mp3's from iTunes, and take trips on the weekend...people like that have their own problems. Most people, unfortunately, don't have the time or the energy to care about others. People like Maurice Johnson, someone with the mind that he has, made to walk the streets with the weight of his shit existence in this country-- with no family to turn to, no money, no possessions, no prospects...

I fear for this country.

"Nyan Cat"

So while sitting at my desk at work, the young lady sitting next to me starts laughing. When I ask her what about, she directs me to this link:

"Nyan Cat" was apparently all-the-rage this past Spring, posted by a YouTube user named "saraj00n", based on the Pop-Tart Cat 8-bit animation by "prguitarman", and set to a song by Daniwell-P. It's funny how some of these MEMEs are localized to a certain extent-- some of these things we all manage to see at about the same time, others are only known by a relative few. Well, 30 million views is hardly a few. Apparently, "nyan" in Japanese(?) means "meow", which are also the lyrics to the crazy song (called " Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya").

Can't get enough of "Nyan Cat"? How about a "smooth Jazz: version:

Feeling international? How about Mexican Nyan Cat:

A Patriot are you? There's American Nyan Cat:

I'm 1/4 Jamaican-- what about me?

Then there's Nyan Cat 2: Rainbow Boogaloo:

And lastly, here's one for all you (us) stoners out there (teeheehee):

There are literally DOZENS of these on YouTube. Go and have some fun.
