Neill Blomkamp's Wired Teaser Vs. The Montauk Monster

This clip has been floating around for the last couple of days. From what I understand, this is a Wired Magazine exclusive teaser from District 9 director Neill Blomkamp. I don't have an iPad, so I am not able to check out the context from which this video is presented:

The moment I saw this, I immediately thought of the "Montauk Monsters". For those of you who don't know, there were two discoveries within about a year (starting in the summer of 2008) of carcasses of mysterious creatures that were found on beaches near Montauk, NY:

Fun stuff, eh? Turns out that this "monster" could be connected to the "Montauk Project", which is a series of experiments that allegedly occurred at the Montauk Airforce Station, as is apparently the home of the follow-up to Project Rainbow...also known as the "Philadelphia Experiment".

So this may be what Mr. Blomkamp is working on these days as maybe a movie or a television series. According to Slash Film, a company called Sable Entertainment registered the name "AGM Heartland", the name stamped on the creature's body, shortly before the release of the trailer. Word is that the name of the next project is called "Elysium", which was meant to start production in mid 2010. This could be it.
