Teabaggers on Parade!

Teabaggers on Parade! | Photo 02

I don't know. I just don't know. I have tried to lay off writing about the Tea Party Movement for a while, mostly because I've found myself making fun of them way too much. To be honest, I've felt bad about that. I mean after all, these people are in...well, they're in some kind of pain and are trying to express themselves in the face of mass ridicule. I just thought that maybe, just maybe, they needed to flush the toilet of the lunatics and morons that had the loudest voices in the party, so that they could regroup, collect themselves, solidify their message, refine their voice, and reintroduce themselves with a clear and meaningful purpose. And that has just not happened.

Prime example of the teabagger imbecile-in-carnate...the one and only Sharon Angle. For those who don't know, Mrs. Angle is competing for Harry Reid's Senate seat in Nevada. This woman has said a lot of bat-shit crazy things, but her recent comments regarding incest and rape are just...well...I mean, what can you really say about this woman that isn't being said by so many already? If you don't know, she has (on two separate occasions) made the case that there were other ways to deal with impregnation as a result of rape, even by a relative, that do not require abortion as an option; making lemonade out of lemons is how she described it:

My own personal feelings and that is always what I express, my personal feeling is that we need to err on the side of life. There is a plan and a purpose, a value to every life no matter what it's location, age, gender or disability....I think that two wrongs don't make a right. And I have been in the situation of counseling young girls, not 13 but 15, who have had very at risk, difficult pregnancies. And my counsel was to look for some alternatives, which they did. And they found that they had made what was really a lemon situation into lemonade.
Wow. So, if you get raped...it's God's will. It's how it was written-- you were put on this earth to birth a child out of rape through incest, or by a stranger. I always wonder what would happen if people like this had to personally confront these issues. I wonder how righteous they would be then.

How about her comment about using the Second Amendment to support "Harry Reid problems"?

I feel that the Second Amendment is the right to keep and bear arms for our citizenry. This not for someone who's in the military. This not for law enforcement. This is for us. And in fact when you read that Constitution and the founding fathers, they intended this to stop tyranny. This is for us when our government becomes tyrannical...And you know, I'm hoping that we're not getting to Second Amendment remedies. I hope the vote will be the cure for the Harry Reid problems.
I love the veiled,  passive-aggressive tone that these comments, and others like it, really work at hinting to the lesser among us to act on their impulses...while not coming right out and saying what they mean to abdicate themsleves of any accountability. And this is a common message that these asshole 'baggers like to throw around-- always with the threats, to themselves and to others. This is what we continue to see from these people-- irrational arguments, no-sense solutions, and overt threats of violence...and we are supposed to take these people seriously?

But it's not just the dead-brained logic of Sharron Angle. How about Tom Tancredo recently coming out and saying that Barrack Obama is the greatest threat to America:

I believe this with all my heart -- that the greatest threat to the United States today, the greatest threat to our liberty, the greatest threat to the Constitution of the United States, the greatest threat to our way of life, everything we believe in, the greatest threat to the country that was put together by the Founding Fathers, is the guy that is in the White House today.
Really? Barrack Obama is the greatest threat to America-- which America do you mean? The real one, or the one that you and your ilk believe was "stolen" from you? You know, the fake, Bizzarro-World one. The one that mental defectives like you are constantly pining for. The fetishized one that never really existed. It's like this Rush Limbaugh idiocy about how the current administration doesn't really like America.  It's so easy to just say stupid shit like this-- to make these wild hyperbolic statements that really have no logic backing it up. And the audience for comments like this will never take the time to research these people to make sure they are getting the correct information. People like Limbaugh, Bachmann, Malkin, Beck, Hanity, Tancredo, Palin...they need an uneducated and undereducated audience to sell their goods.

And speaking of selling goods to an audience, we have a young lady named Krista Branch, with the song that is being dubbed as the Tea Party theme, called "I Am America."

Pay no attention to the people in the street
Crying out for accountability
Make a joke of what we believe
Say we don't matter 'cause you disagree

Pretend you're kings, sit on your throne
Look down your nose at the peasants below...

I've got some news, we're taking names
We're waiting now for the judgment day

Not a horrible song-- not my style, but it's not all that bad. And she's cute enough-- gotta like that. But yeah, I'm just not buying the "boo-hoo-hoo, they laugh at us" garbage that many of these 'baggers whine about. 'baggers get laughed at because they make no sense. And when they have the opportunity to explain themselves, they've got nothing to say. Hell, Lindsey Graham has even said it himself:

“Everything I’m doing now in terms of talking about climate, talking about immigration, talking about Gitmo is completely opposite of where the Tea Party movement’s at,” Graham said as Cato drove him to the city of Greenwood, where he was to give a commencement address at Lander University later that morning. On four occasions, Graham met with Tea Party groups. The first, in his Senate office, was “very, very contentious,” he recalled. During a later meeting, in Charleston, Graham said he challenged them: “ ‘What do you want to do? You take back your country — and do what with it?’ . . . Everybody went from being kind of hostile to just dead silent.”

That's exactly right. They have nothing to say. They're just pissed because they stupidly feel that the country NOW is being taken away from them. Meanwhile, Bush and Cheney ran this country into the ground-- TRULY and FACTUALLY caused damn-near all of the damage that we are dealing with today...and NONE of these 'baggers where anywhere to be found.

And so it goes, on and on. These people will continue to stomp their feet and be pissed off about losing something they never really had. You know what, assholes? You had your chance. You had every opportunity in the world to be heard, and to do the work necessary for people in the REAL WORLD to take you seriously. Now, you people are nothing more than caricatures. All you have is bitching, complaining, anger, bile, and an uneducated perspective of American history. You are bringing nothing useful to the table, including yourselves.

I know some of you will be pissed about what I've written here, and will try to write some inarticulate, belligerent screeds about what a pinko-commie, Obama-loving asshole I am. So be it. To be defined by vacuous, anti-intellectual zombies is...well, painless. And kinda funny!

Peace, love, and empathy to you all...
