BumpTop bought by Google

BumpTop is a slick 3D desktop interface for touch devices-- and they've just be acquired by Google.

Watch this video:

Pretty slick, eh? I like the photo manipulation stuff, and the docks on the walls, and the arrangement of the icons...this is some cool stuff! This will certainly give Apple a run for its money...whenever it gets released. I would LOVE to be able to edit video this way-- can you imagine?!

This is the kind of thing that I would like Flash developers to see-- instead of bitching and moaning about Apple, look to the future of the Android mobile operating system! Unfortunately, by the time Google gets their operating system up and running on a tablet device, or this new 3D interface onto a smart phone, Apple will probably have something comparable or better. But this is a good thing-- it's great to see people coming up with new possibilities for viewing and manipulating information.

You can actually download a desktop version of Bumptop from their website until May 7th.
